LIVE GAME Round 27 vs. Sea Eagles

Live Game Discussion
That officiating performance was so weirdly bad that it stopped being a contest pretty early on.

I'm not saying we lost because of the ref. Just that the game was left to deteriorate into a non-contest VERY early on. The obvious forward passes, some that lead to tries, the knock-ons, the players leaving the ref behind, the lack of ANY call from the sideline...

I've honestly not seen a game stop being a contest due to officiating before. That was just weird to watch.

What I will say- if Manly were to be fit, they might be the most dangerous attacking team in the NRL. The pure speed of that squad is impressive.

Adding Brooks to replace Arthur increases that speed again.

Morgan Harper is off contract. I saw him keep up with Saab & Kuola easily. We could do with that kind of speed. Add Weekes.

It was impressively obvious just HOW much faster they are.

Even Cherry at 34 was burning our guys with ease.
Yes they looked a lot faster. A lot.

It was clear she couldn’t keep up. Why the hell didn’t she receive support from the touchies? That is the most useless job in professional sport.

It was uncomfortable to watch because we were bad but the officiating on top of that made it near impossible to get back into it. Longest half an hour I have had to endure for some time.

It's amazing how much of a shemozzle 60 missed tackles, 10 missed forward passes and 8 missed knock-ons looks like.

And then they call back IP for a no-try after letting in two Manly howlers; even the commentators were nonplussed.

Cmon guys. You need to do 400 passes next year if you need to outscore 54 points per game!

I thought before this "WTF is Marshall thinking"... I leave going "nothing good".

Benji presser " the only positive is the fans keep sticking "
That's us .If the ceo remains im not sure for how long benji ?

Benji actually spoke like a leader and trying to make the whole club accountable in his presser. Spoke like more of a leader than any of our longer term leaders - hopefully he can get into it next year and really start turning us around. I also questioned the choice of API as captain at the start of the year. How wrong I was - he has quickly turned into my favourite player and a great leader. I have faith in these 2 to lead us in the write direction.

With 7 out, three 18 year olds and a few departing or unwanted in the team last might, as well as every decision going against us I think it’s fair ti say it wouldn’t have mattered if it was Benji, Craig Bellamy or Jesus coaching us last night, we still could not have won that game with the team we fielded and an obvious lack of NRL quality depth within the 2023 roster.
Will it be any better in 2024 probably not as Benji still won’t have a playing roster he’s happy with, but they will do their best to strengthen it if unwanted players can be moved on and replaced with NRL quality players who may not be getting the opportunity they are looking for at their current clubs.

I have no idea why for the last 2 years this kid was being talked up as the second coming of Christ, he has never produced anything on the field in multiple chances. Cut
Have to agree, we’ve been sold a pup about all these young future legends coming through the marvellous system we have. If we don’t have any future legends in 1st grade already why is it reasonable to assume that the club has a plethora of them in the lower grades waiting for an opportunity?
I saw a 20yo fullback in the Manly side rip us to shreds.
Madge was right..boys against men.
