Just watched Benjis press conference. It was the only positive thing to come out of last night's mess. He appears to actually give a shit about this club. He's the only coach I've seen that has put up his hand to take some of the blame. Good on ya Benji. Madge was a tough coach but was a bullshit artist, Cleary is a great coach but a low grade piece of crap, Sheens was a smoke screen to take all the heat and the list could go on (don't get me started on Taylor). The point I'm making is that Benji truly cares and I hope that will be enough .

I reckon Api would admit it’s much tougher defending isolated on an edge than it is in the middle.
Like or hate Brooks, he was a very tenacious defender for us, I worry the young fellas we have replacing him might not have the same defensive commitment.

Brooks is better at 7 than Api but Brooks still missed some of those tackles. Halves are going to get run over at times.

He cares. He is passionate. He is going to need to develop a better squad along with Fulton and get people around him who can support him.

Gold. Yep Api has a poor attitude. Bula had a chance to make a tackle as well so let's put him in the poor attitude camp as well.

I don’t mean to harp on about the Jackson Hastings saga but to me it speak volumes about this club. You had a guy who gave it his all, who was able to galvanise the side, who wanted to be there and you let him go. Sure, he isn’t the best player, but it’s not always the best players that bring a side together. The fact that we let him go suggests that there are enormous egos higher up that don’t have our best interests in play. Last night, with the exception of Api again we were a directionless rabble. Are these blokes even mates? To me, we look worse than last year. Until we have guys at the club that are smart, who can read the game and who want to work, the outlook looks bleak. I just watched this based on your post and Benji nailed it. We need the whole club to start being a bit more honest about our chances and what needs to happen. I think one of Sheens biggest faults was overselling this season and this roster.

Benji had it right when he stated (I'm paraphrasing) words are meaningless and results are all that matters.

I'm glad he is gone because of the highlighted point. As for the other stuff he was here all last season and we came dead last.

All the good defensive teams openly say they have their edge back rowers acting as body guards defensively for the halves they play alongside of.
Just another aspect of the game that is not happening for us.

Our backrowers are lazy shits. As a body guard, they would throw their client in front of the bullet.

Both backrowers played 80 minutes. Blore 5 runs for 33m, ICE 27 tackles 10 missed and the slowest play the balls in the entire team. Marquee performance in the vain of Anasta or Adam Blair

It's left with a lot of questions.

Is it better to get a smashing for more motivation in the off season?

Does manly smashing us do good things for them?

Regardless, the club players were too soft again and need to pull their fingers out of their bum.

Just not sure how much to take from this season to next season.
