These new rules make it very hard for the team who’s behind to make a comeback. In all three games it’s been fairly even, one team gets a few calls and then they run away with it. Obviously the losing teams haven’t been good but we are yet to see a close contest unless Rabbitohs stage a comeback.

That doesn't bother me. Neither the broncs or the tits have a decent spine to get them back into a contest. Its getting back to footy.

Leads to less exciting footy if this keeps up. Personally not a fan of watching blowouts

I'm fine with it if it leads to bringing back more footy players and less 100kg robots with no skills just running lines.
I have no problem at all with skillful players running rough shot over guys that just happen to be athletic.

There’s never been more skill in footy than there is now. We’ve had some of the greatest playmakers of all time with the two ref system in place.

Not being rude or sarcastic mate but you're fairly young?

I am but I still know Thurston, Cronk, Smith are some of the best every playmakers we’ve seen. Obviously there’s been plenty of great playmakers in the past as well but the game has evolved a long way

and its evolving again - what goes around comes around. In the past fatigue was a big part in allowing the skillful players to ply their trade and show their skills. Now we are seeing fatigue back in the game the smaller faster players are having an impact rather than the skulking 110kg plus running at halves. Blowouts are an issue and if it continues we may see what another poster suggested in having the scoring side kick off to try and even out the contest.

The big men are still having just as much impact. Taumalolo still put up crazy numbers as did Haas. The eels big men were the main reason they dominated so much. I do like the idea of having the scorer kick off but that may lead to games ending up 40-34 or thereabouts which isn’t a great watch

The new style of rugby league has it's pros and cons , I guess it comes down to what's more important

Getting rid of the wrestle , speeding up the game ...great

The blowouts , increased dummy half running , the parity between the best and worst increasing.... not so great

More pros than cons at this stage. It is only early so it's a small sample. The average person on the street had really had enough of the game the way it was going, so something had to give.

The blowouts will get bigger as the season progresses ...that's the scary bit

The bottom 4 sides will only be a chance v each other ...what's that saying about being careful about what you wish for ....

Stepping up the wish to get rid of teams perhaps ....

Might end up like the English soccer. 4-5 teams dominate and no one else really has a chance.

Yeah but the weekend of 2-3 games with 60 - 6 scorelines ...at least you knew under the previous structure you had to play bad to get whooped , now you just won't get anywhere near a fair share of the ball and lack of possession ( no matter how well you complete your sets ) will get you flogged

I reckon even if we complete at 90% we get beaten by 30 + by the roosters ...is this the game you want ...the back end of the 90's scorelines

Not sure how you get the perfect game but for me it is something between what we had and what we have now. Its all speed at present and it might end up where you have a no7,no6 and 9 and the rest of your side is made up of speed men preferably with size and massive engines. I guess it will settle down in a few weeks, but at first glimpse I am not over the moon by it

Whats the problem? We got beat 51-6 under the old system. The Broncos got beat 58-0 in a finals game. The Broncos had less possession the other night under the new system against a stronger Parra side and still didn't get beat by that.

Nobody on this site (or the old one actually) complained when we flogged the Cowboys and Broncos in 2005 finals with fast flowing attacking footy. The league world was in awe and we were everyones second favourite team.
Like i said it's too early to tell and i'm sure there will be adjustments along the way and the happy medium will be found.

As for claims from another poster about 4 or 5 teams dominating, as Fade.To.Black alluded too, it's been going on for years.

We’ve had a bunch of different teams win the final though it’s not been the same 3 teams winning every year.

If these rules suit us I’m not gonna complain at all they’ll be the greatest rules of all time 😂

The last 6 Rds as WT's supporters are going to make interesting reading

Your missing my point ..these blokes are fresh as a daisy , and we don't even have a game that's look remotely close ...score line or performance wise and we haven't had a game with lopsided teams yet ....

It's going to get worse ......who wants to watch their side get pumped by 30 16 rounds of the season

Be interesting when we look at membership numbers for the entire NRL in 2021

JWH just a fine🤣🤣🤣
This bloke should have missed more games through suspension than pretty much anybody in the history of the game, he gets pinged for a headshot every week. Lucky for him he plays for the Roosters. It's annoying though.

That's pretty much been happening for 10 years+ already.

We’ve had a bunch of different teams win the final though it’s not been the same 3 teams winning every year.

The Sharks title was a flat-out gift from NRL HQ, it was manipulated nicely. Ditto Souths and Dragons. Have a look who the top 8 teams have been in this period, it's bloody lopsided with the have's and have-not's. Nowhere near an even comp IMO.

Is Staggs facing a few weeks suspension? His high shot was pretty cowardly, deserves 3 or 4 weeks IMO.

Already taken the two weeks

Thought it deserved a few more. It wasn't a reactionary split-second slip-up, he had plenty of time to choose his target.

Definitely rooting for the warriors here but I’ve tipped the dragons. That warriors team just looks so weak
