I’m with you there. These rule changes make it much harder for us. Teams will be able to wrestle us a lot more and we aren’t very good at doing it back. Hopefully our forwards can find their front and earn us some 6 again calls but these rules will allow forward pack to dominate us even more than usual in attack and defence I feel

I don't think Doueihi is the correct body shape for 5/8, too tall and thin. His height is more of an advantage competing to diffuse bombs at full back and he can play as a 2nd 5/8 once or twice each attacking set.
Thompson tries his guts out but is missing quite a few attributes of a good fullback. Even on the wing his height is a liability and can be targeted when isolated against any opposition back.
I would give Jennings a chance for 3 or 4 games and if he doesn't show a massive improvement over last year, give Talau a go on the wing

Unless we sign someone new I would have Mbye as 5/8 next year or if Benji is injured this year

Hopefully Doueihi can have a consistent run and prove himself to be in the top 8 fullbacks in the comp.

The worst outcome at the end of this season would be Madge not knowing where Mbye, Doueihi and Talau fit in.

Im not convinced that we’ll struggle under the new rules. Because we are one of the poorer teams at wresting we give away the second fewest ruck penalties in the league. Therefore in theory we should be getting more 6 agains than our opposition. If Harry Grant can take advantage of this we could be on the front foot in most games... at least that’s my wish

I'm starting to warm to the idea or Bradley coming into the side somewhere in the season .. the guy is 6'5" and 105kgs+ can play wing or back row .. that would be a handy player on the bench ..??

Season 2020 will be so hard for all the Bradleys and the Scolaris - Canterbury Cup players, reserve graders - who have no comp to play in, no comp to show their development, no comp to regularly progress, improve and pressure First grade (except for injury).

Agree with your sentiments. A lot of good young players who won't be getting the normal development but at least Bradley, Madden & Cini (all development players) will get to train with the squad so that is something. The others are going to be at least 12 months behind but they will just have adapt in RMC and Sydney Shield. A good mindset and desire will be required by all and we should remind ourselves other clubs have the same problem in any case.

I know this will create a stir but I’m keeping Jennings on the bench as genuine cover if an outside back goes down (although tempted to put in Talau). It’s been the trend to include an outside back on the bench to cover for HIA’s. I don’t think Chee Kam can cover if one of our wingers goes down.

One of the most experienced halves in the comp, one of our most experienced players in arguably the best form of his career and you want to put him on the bench?
Are you ok?

Especially when we have a guy like Walters who can play 9 as well as in the halves and I'm sure would also handle playing centre, who would be ideal as a 14.

Benji is our 6 as long as he keeps playing how he has been
