Luckily couldn't watch live, so watched on-demand - and my finger was on the skip button. And I pretty much skipped the whole thing. First half was pure filth, second wasn't much better.
Seriously had me fuming, what do they do at training? And all off season??
Thought Stains was pretty good, from what I saw. Absolutely LOVED Nofa getting the hook.

It’s because of AD we kept going that way.
How many times did Toa and Nofo actually get the ball to run onto and not from a kick return/hitup style?
AD is a terrible 5/8th he is a him 1st player.
Just a total ball hog and one dimensional style player & majority of time he doesn’t even do the basics of that right.
AD has been more costly than Brooks this season so far which is saying something.
Can’t believe we extended him already.
Twal was after 20mins our leading meter maker. Klemmer and Stef have been plodders last 2 weeks and Joffa from last year has just disappeared. It’s scray but Twal is also the only forward one watching and reading Api.
Do you think we played so much better the last two weeks with him? None of the three games were great, I just don’t see any difference between having him vs not at the moment
No, don't think he's half and I don't blame him for being picked as the half, that's on the coach(s). I believe he's a 5/8, always has been.

Reading generally - what are some specific criticisms of Brooks today?
I am not a Brooks fan and am mostly against resigning him but am just looking for some specific issues with his game today.
I’ve said this in a previous post - his run on tackle 5 in the second half in the Bulldogs defensive 20 was poor and he also gave away a 7 tackle set with a slightly better than poor kick (aimed at the post and missed by small margin).
Would just be curious to hear some more specific knocks on his game. I felt like today the overall knock on his communication was 50-50. He did organise the short side pod play that lead to a try, and also stuffed a lot of others (short side pods). Is that the big issue today specifically?

With 20 mins to go Luke Lewis on ABC had Brooks nowhere near a game of football ever again.

First of all, I want to say I agree with everything else you said in this post but have highlighted your Brooks summation as I severely disagree with it.
He was bloody aweful today, with the obvious exception of a couple of good things at the end.
For 65 minutes we would have been better off with a mop out there with a bucket on its head.
Just about everytime he engaged the line, he threw a terrible pass behind his runner, or threw it to someone easily covered. Just about everytime he finished off a set our play broke down. There was a number of times Joey and Freddy said “good lead up work by the Tigers here, now it’s up to the halves to finish it” then Brooks would either kick it dead, throw a terrible ball or just get caught with the ball.
He is genuinely incompetent as a halfback. He is a disgraceful ball player. His only position in this squad is an attacking centre…and he requires all decision making and kicking duties stripped from him.
Apart from that, great post.

He threw 4 hospital passes, got smashed and ruined our attack more times, was ineffective with every kick, was very average in defence. Overall till he went to 6 was 2/10

Punditry on us is generally non-analytical. It is easy and popular to pile on us - was more looking for specific issues with the game he played today.
Agreed.
Both halves were terrible today and are terrible generally.
BOTH are the biggest contributors to our lack of success presently, bar none.

No, it's a draw.
He also missed 6 tackles including 4 in almost 4 efforts. For me it's the lack of composure, direction and leadership from the bloke when playing 7. Those are the most important criteria for the halfback. When the pressure is on Luke he folds
When Wakeham came on and played 7 Brooks looked ok as he doesn't have to think, he's a capable player when he's in that 5/8 secondary role. (Better than AD there) he's just a liability at 7 because we instantly become rudderless

Fair - his passing at the moment is generally off. He only kick it dead once and got caught once if I am not mistaken.
Did his involvement in the three second half tries make you feel any different about his performance overall?
