LIVE GAME Round 4 v Warriors

Live Game Discussion
Every team is doing it hoping they get away with it because no one knows when the ref will decide to ping them. I never said the ref targeted us I said the coaches have no control over what the ref decides to do when deciding when to blow the whistle for 6 agains.
It’s not a lottery mate. They penalise discretions.
They call what they see. I don’t know how it can be interpreted any other way?

Put simply we were under pressure. The Warriors had momentum were dominant in their carries and we were trying to negatively impact that flow by slowing down the play, or attempting to force them into an error by frustrating their flow.

Same applied when we were on the attack.

With us as a team of a lot of new combinations we are still a bit out of sync in defence and our timing is just slightly off, that’s something I would like Benji to address, and it’s easy for him to review as there is an outcome ie the Ref calling 6 again which would highlight what we have done wrong.

Yeah if you look at the PCM it's chalk and cheese, we seemed to fighting to put them down far too often. And it puts you under pressure, including fatigue.

Seyfarth charged for the "dangerous contact" is adding insult to injury. They've effectively doubled down on the call being correct, absolute disgrace if you ask me. Richo needs to get in the media and blow up deluxe over that garbage.

It was shoulder to the head. It is what it is.
Klockstad was actually rising and not dipping when the contact was made.
Seyfarth needs to do some yoga.

He wasn't terrible but that play when he booted the ball out exemplified one of the Tigers biggest issues for as long as I can remember - horrendous decision making when the pressure is on. I dont know if it speaks to a lack of game awareness, fitness, talent or trying to take the easy option, or all of the above, but it was a reserve grade play from a good reserve grade player.
I think we all know it was a brain snap , other than that he had a good game

The Warriors won because of a BS penalty
Penalty is for shoulder CHARGE
Seyfarth was stationary and the warriors guy fell into his shoulder and the impact was minimal but he collapsed to the ground writhing in agony
Should have got an Oscar
Combine that with the ref being the most inexperienced in the NRL
In the end imo they cheated to get the penalty
Benji thinks so but can't say so
We also have no excuse for their 4th try
Where the hell was our left wing ,left center and left edge forward
The onus is on the defender not to come in contact with the head.

The six again rule forces teams to try and slow the play down because the nature of the game is that teams can not possibly keep defending continuous sets without cracking. It's not physically possible.
It's the best and easiest way for a referee to have an impact on the outcome of a game
by ruling one team is more undisciplined than the other when in fact the fatigue from having to continually defend breaks all teams- like what happened in the game at Manly against Canberra. Game over at half time.
It is a terrible rule and can ruin games and all teams are at the mercy of the referee if he/ she decides to enforce it on one team.
There is not a team in the competition that does not try to slow the play the ball down when under pressure and they are all at the mercy of the referee to decide when to rule on what he sees, let alone what he doesn't see.

Absolutely this .. 💯

It's a stupid rule...

If a player is running and slips and falls into a players knee, It's classified as an accident.

The same should have applied to Seyfarths tackle. It was a very weak penalty.

Either way, we had other chances and let the game slip.

Turuva should have passed the ball to TOA after catching the chip kick from Galvin.

May should have held onto the ball when grounding.

They are just the two I can think of at the moment.

But in years gone by, our forwards would have been trampled by that pack. It was a great effort, something I haven't seen from the Tigers in a long time.

Don’t you remember Martin Tapou being suspended when Jordan Rapana ran into his knee?

Can someone explain why CNK was allowed to stay on the field, yet Turuva (no penalty) had to leave with HIA. The disruption before and during the game to our lineup, I thought the boys did well to hang in there
Bcoz refs are human idiots.

It’s ok you see it that way. That’s not the way I would be approaching the game.

That game was chock full of "what if" moments. To miss so many of them and still almost win is rare air for this club. We created heaps of opportunity to win and with a little less panic, we will start icing these plays. There are a lot more wins coming should the key elements of the squad stay fit.

It was a brain snap but it’s a cultural things we’ve had where team members play as individuals and not as a team. So in that moment it’s about what’s better for the team rather than an individual trying a big play. Douehi did it a lot for a while but collectively we are getting better about what is best for the team. Galvin has a way to go in this as well

A top team like Melbourne loses, but they are always in the game. We lost 2 by 2 so far with a team with so many faces and couple of teens. Frustrating loss but loving so far what the Tigers are doing
2 Games by 2 points tiger's should be up there with the dogs undefeated, tiger's were in front roughly 80 % of the game, these are the games we need to win before we play the top team's

I was pissed about the Klokstad penalty yesterday, but if the same thing happened down the other end I would've said fair penalty. It comes down to game management and experience. In defence, really need to learn to come off our line harder/quicker and slow the ruck down. We spent most of the game scrambling. Don't know how many times I saw the warriors make 40-50m in attack and we barely make 30m.
