TEAM LIST Round 4 vs. Storm

Team List
Wonder if there is any egg shells present at concord
Douehi at fullback is definitely a shot across the bow as well as for Laurie not coming straight back in
Joe just might need a kicking
Noffa needs motivation much like he did when Madge put him in reserve grade early on
Hope they all respond
I get the feeling Sheens has wanted this for a while. The only difference may of been Doueihi and Laurie swapping eventually.
When waxing lyrical pre season about Bula you get the impression size matters to Sheens out the back. I don’t believe Bula is coming on a quickly as Sheens had hoped so this might be plan B.

Some selections make zero sense

Laurie can probably play any position in the backline at a pinch. With AJ starting at center he could move into the forwards and Laurie into the backs. But why pick him and disrupt the team dynamics it’s a bizarre selection

Seyfarth like cmon he gets belted last week after offering nothing yet again in 1sts and somehow gets picked against some rookies and Joffa. This is just a dumb dumb move.

Brooks and Wakeham just meh guess its just numbers on a jersey but don’t get why Brooks is still listed as halfback.

AD at fullback geez he is the luckiest guy on the planet. Hands teams games and gets shifted from 5/8th to the 2nd most important position on the park outside of Hooker. Staines has been shafted.

Glad Tupou keeps his spot, Naden & AJ looks good. Our starting pack looks brilliant on paper hope they perform. Our bench looks uninspiring.

When moving Pole to lock, our lack of depth in the prop department really shows.
Love Pole. Brings hard running agression. Really pleasing to see a young forward take his chances. Personally feel with Bateman there with Klemmer, others wil lift their game
We need ICE to click as well.
We have a very good side on paper, just disjointed onfield

AD at no1 gives me flash backs to when Balmain got GarryJack back at about 35 after a stint in the UK. AD could not run out of sight on a dark night and the most important asset for a no1 is speed. The Storm will have him lumbering all night.

Iam probably being unkind to AD, in a quality side he would be valuable, but in a struggle street side he just doesn’t have the skill set to make a difference.

I think there maybe some sheens creative business going there with AJ and Daine as the game goes on.
In terms of AD, Sheens has made a clever move and put him as a ball receiver meaning we shouldn’t see him throw dumb intercepts.
We all know AD is a strong player with ability to drag players with him like we saw many times from scrums last year.

I love Laurie but gee wiz Staines looked the goods at Fullback

Less I say about Seyfarth the better.

Happy to see Noffa Hooked.
Players on notice, good thing for the club.

If we play a very middle focussed game I actually think we could see Douheihi make a few tackle busts off good forwards momentum. The key then will be little men pushing at speed.

Anyone expecting the 05 Tigers this year, that’s been put to bed in 3 games. The days of Paul Whatuira are long gone.
I hope nobody breaks the line he’s terrible one on one, it actually looked like he dived the other way on purpose last week.

I like the looks of the team this week. They had to make changes and put them all on notice. I would prefer to see a better bench though, no Seyfarth or Laurie would be better.

I really liked Staines at FB. Now we get to see AD crash and burn in yet another spine position. Hopefully I'm wrong on that.

Big pressure on Wakeham to perform. Would be brilliant if he can get us hitting straight and hard.

Considering we should have 6 competition points, we can topple Melbourne.

So they don’t release the ressies team on the web site anymore?

Well Storm are 1win by a point and 2 big losses . They don't have Papenhausen ,big Nelson
and maybe no Munster and no Hughes. If we can't win its saying something I'm not confident
We all know Both Munster and Hughes will be playing. Hughes will get downgraded as he is not a Tigers player... Storm don't lose 3 in a row very often so we will need to hold the ball

We have made changes. Good start. Wakeham in is, tick. Joe has been poor / injured. I don’t like Seyfarth and hope he is replaced. We also have the best starting pack we can play with so exciting … yes if we can score. I’m off AD as well but our best utility is Laurie (well while brooks is on $1M and selected). So forgetting positions and numbers on their back for now, we have probably fielded the best team we can given the first 3 games. I do hope Wakeham kicks (in general play and goals) and plays essentially 7. AD at the back is not ideal but if we get momentum in the forwards and Wakeham is steering things, you never know. I suspect Lauie gets a shot wherever we are weakest. Replace seafarer and I am ok.

Positives

- Sheens V1.0 would have persisted with the same team for 1/2 a season, instead v2.0 has made changes after 3 weeks
- Youth/Speed on the wings
- Kepoa retaining a starting position, albeit in the centres
- Adam out of the half's
- Starting pack at full strength

Negatives
- Adam starting at fullback (visions of the QE2 turning in the harbour on kick returns) - he should be at 14
- Laurie should be starting over Adam
- Brooks retaining the no.7 on his back - I know it has no bearing as he'll play left and Wakeham on the right, but he should be put on notice by having the '7' taken from him
