As Cooper Cronk said, coaches should be working with Brooks to strip his game right back and just do the basics well. Perhaps in Reggie’s. I understand what you are saying about teamwork but to really simplify Brooks problems he is fast can run can tackle but your main playmaker is a decision maker and that's the problem ,.his lack of confidence leads to hesitation and that's the problem ,your then rushed and options narrow. Difficult to win a game when your main playmaker is taking wrong options . Sheens post game said main problem was team took wrong option on most plays
If he's center ,he's fast can tackle but not main playmaker
Everyone says souths winger Johnson is great or does he just get put into space overlap often .
Our wingers almost never get good ball .They spend game catching bombs and doing hit ups out of defence .No wonder Nofo was getting frustrated .
Brooks in centers could fix that simple run- draw and pass

I really wish he gets a grip and comes good.
 
I think that the fact we have been in every game we have played in this year could be masking the reality for the coaching staff. It is much easier to say Brooks and co will come good with some more time when we are losing by relatively small margins. This week against the broncs is a key game I believe. We have a good record against them of late, so a surprise upset is a possibility. Catching them following the dolphins match may help here, in that it (match and emotion attached to it) would have taken a lot out of them. In saying that, I'm not sure how good this is for us in 23, in that it will probably paper over some cracks that need attention. On the flip side, based on the current form of both teams, this could be a blood bath. The broncs showed how quickly they can put points on when they are in the mood, and I fear the scoreboard may blow out if we don't play with the intensity needed. The logical conclusion to all of that if we do get towelled up, perhaps those that have not justified their spot in the 17 take step closer to NSW cup.

Should I be hoping for a win or a flogging?
 
All this talk about dropping Brooks is great on paper. He deserves to be dropped for sure - but who are you going to replace him with? I'm seriously interested in what options people see to overcome the problem.

Wakeham is given the reigns to control the game who are you going to partner him with?
  • Douhie? He is much worse than Brooks in the halves at the moment. Very lucky not to be in cup on his current form.
  • Daino? Maybe but untried. So we throw him in against an in form Broncos. Not the right move - let him show his wares in Cup and then make a decision.
  • Reilly? Not really an upgrade from the limited exposure I have had to him.
So as much as I would like to see him dropped for his lack of performance I think we have to play him until we find a better option. Trusting that the pass selection and last tackle options improve is not much of a plan but we probably need to stick with it for the foreseeable future.

My option is to give Daino a crack in cup and get creative from there.

Agree but is Brooks better to do that with the no 7 on his back or perhaps 3 or 4

We shouldn’t need to, but blind faith in LB and then AD with no accountability and then to see the rubbish dished up by them two with the last excuse of “a crap forward pack “ has now changed, and they still get picked, has driven loyal supporters like yourself to think this way.
