Winning this game is not probable, but it is certasinly possible. We won't control the middle given the quality of the opposition; however, if we contain them we have the ability to outscore them. We certainly won't achieve it unless we cantrol the momentum of the game and take our chances.
We can't afford to let them get a start. Our slow starts have been a huge issue for us and unless we address it the Donkeys could kick out to a big early lead. Brisbane will want to play fast, racking up metres down the middle before shovelling out to Staggs, Walsh and Cobbo through two very expereinced halves. So how do we do it?
If we let them camp in our red zone points will flow for them, so we need to attack them with our defence in the middle third of the field. Unless the Donkys are off their game, we will not win the middle contest; however, if we scrap hard in every contact and contain them we have the ability to play up an in on Hunt and Reynolds to limit Walsh and Co out the back. We also need to control momentum, which will be difficult with such immature halves. Api will prpbably need to do a bit of kicking out of dummy half. 40/20s would be gold, but if we can find touch if they are getting as roll on it breaks their momentum, gives us time to calm down and reset.
The key to winning isn't our defence though. The defence is definitely the foundation we need to build from, but this is a game where we have to have the attitude of scoring one more point than they do. Galvin and Latu have to play what they see and take their chances. If we try to get in the grind with Brisbane we will be minced and they will put a score on us.
