LIVE GAME Round 7 General Discussion *Spoilers*

Live Game Discussion
Syd Christensen was a Glebe and Balmain centre three quarter who was Balmain Club captain in 1936. He was the first player to reach 100 points in a season.

Syd enlisted in the AIF in World War 2 and was killed in action on 9 February 1942. It wasn't until 1944 that his death was confirmed. He was a member of the 2/20th Battalion which was recruited from Balmain, Leichhardt, Newcastle and country areas.

He was last scene at Battalion HQ on Singapore Island with a bren light machine gun fighting a loan action to buy time for his mates to get away. He never forgot what team work was about. It's a similar story to one of my family members killed on the same day on Singapore Island holding back the Japanese with a mate, both also had bren guns.

RIP Sydn

Its interesting in attack penriff never fight in the tackle - as soon as they are hit they go straight to ground and then jump up for a quick play the ball

Did you see the way we played that day?
An NRLW team would have done us.
I did. But interestingly Newcastle are now below us on the ladder and with the expertise of Johns as coach, a very handy forward pack and million dollar FB - can't score a try.

If that touch was enough to knock him off the ball he should give it up. And why Gus is allowed to call Panthers games is a mystery,

Anyway 8-1 penalty count and the locals are being arseholes as is their style.
