From the rule book:
DROP KICK: a kick whereby the ball is dropped from the hands (or hand) and is kicked immediately it rebounds from the ground.
Nothing about having a shot at goal. I don’t think it was a try as it wasn’t a genuine attempt at drop kick and he didn’t get to the error before it hit the ground. However, if they are going to quote the rule book they should get it right.
Fair enough!
To me the Fox guys were more saying they should change the rule to that. I didn't think they were saying it was the rule now.

It was a picture of me on the Great Wall answering Don's question about you being C ..the answer is still NO…
@ said:@ said:Unbelievable from the bunker…. Knock ons are ok if your attempting a kick
He was clearly intending to kick so if you're allowed to drop kick in general play (and not only when attempting a field goal) then I don't see the problem with it. I don't know what the rule is about drop kicks in general play though.

A. Kick is when the ball leaves the hands and contacts the foot.
A drop kick is kicked simultaneously as the ball touches the turf and contacts the boot.
That was a howler and Slater knew it
Not really "simultaneously". The ball bounces.
But most people agree ita not a try. Tedesco did it laat year vs titans.
If the nrl allows that as a try then technically isnt anyone who drops the ball (knock on) permitted to quickly kick it?
No, because unusually he was clearly intending to kick when he dropped it. If people just drop the ball then it will be obvious they weren't intending to kick and it will be a knock on.
But you are allowed to do that as per the rules:
If, after knocking-on accidentally, the player knocking-on regains or ****
**kicks the ball before it touches the ground,**
a goal post, cross bar or an opponent, then play shall be allowed to proceed. Otherwise play shall stop and a scrum shall be formed except after the fifth play-the-ball.

So it was a knock on - the ball touched the ground before he kicked it.

Are there many WestsTigers fans over there Geo?
If not, I hope you have learnt to say "Are you on the Bus?" in Mandarin. Then quickly recruite a couple hundred Crouching Tiger Fans before kick off. 10 hours before kick off.
