In the trial match where bula was at fullback, he did have better support play than Laurie already so I guess there’s not too much to lose
However I would’ve stuck with Staines myself for the next few weeks
Hopefully Bula goes out there and has a blinder to solidify that fullback spot as his own tho

am i missing something, i thought you had to be in the 30 man squad to have a game..i thought after round 10 Bula would be available. So has he taken the nbr 30 s ot in the squad. If so why didnt the club wait 3 more weeks so he would be made available and not take u that s ot in the 30 man squad

Compared to other teams selections the thing that stands out is how often Sheens changes his mind on almost every backline position .Does that mean he's still experimenting or he's just not quite sure what's our best combinations

He forgot the last couple of weeks and can’t remember who is who, let alone the positions they have played and how the performed.

In my opinion Bulla should be on the wing until he tastes the pressure of NRL,Stains at FB and if Sheens has any brains he puts Brooks to 5/8 and Wakeham to 7...
Bula will be targetted at the back and Manly will be relentless,at least Charlie can handle the pressure even if it is slightly better than Laurie,Brooks can run and Wakeham knows what the7 needs to do,just feed the ball and organise the team,something Brooks cant do...
Its great that we give the young guys a go,BUT this is Manly and they dont care if the kid debuts,they will want blood...but thats just me ...

Bula's try was of a bat down from Toupou. They seemed to work well together in that game. Fingers crossed.

I havent watched any cup games, only the 1st trial game. In the half where we didn't have much possesion, i think he was the one who sniffed around the ruck & try assist to matamua. His movement 'sniffing' around the ruck is very natural & instinctive that game. Both Dane & Staines hasn't shown this in terms of timing. Defensive position & kick defusal was good that day too.
But coming from injury straight into this, makes me nervous for the guy. Perhaps better in a way that the expectations are low.
