TEAM LIST Round 8 vs. Sea Eagles

Team List
Hope AJ is not out, our backline is weak enough. Reading the names of our 1-7 is fairly disheartening, honestly reads like a NSW cup side - way out of their league in the NRL.
I’m afraid that DCE will be kicking in behind us all day as well as testing us with contested chips and bombs on our line.

I laughed at those lauding the 2nd coming of the "Mastercoach"
He's been pulling this crap forever - Don't waste a moment of your day trying to understand it....

He's lost none of his arrogance, If anything - He's maybe got a bit worse... I'd expect a little bit of humility from a bloke that has done absolutely nothing of significance in rugby league since
2009 when he signed Gareth Ellis.

A couple of his team selection highlights....
Danny Galea - A reserve grade centre at Prop
Sean Meaney - A reserve grade Fullback at Hooker
Daniel Fitzhenry at 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 9...

Hang on guys, It can only get weirder.....
Bizarre statements here. Nothing of significance since 2009? Made the top four in 2010 and 2011, arguably should have made grand finals both years, how is that not significant? He didn't have the Roosters salary cap in a lot of those years so was working with Juniors and journey men, you can't polish a turd. His record of producing and nurturing juniors is better than most that have ever coached in the NRL.
He can come across as arrogant because the media have been sticking it to the club and he is giving it back, unlike soft Madge. Judge the man in two years time I bet you will be pleasantly surprised, he will do what he did with Penrith and set them up for Gould to reap the benefits in future years.

Hearing Laurie will drop out of the 17 and will feature in NSW Cup on Sunday afternoon in a bid to reinvent himself as a five-eighth.

Expect further changes.
This is what I wanted to see in the pre-season. We finally get so see if Gould is full of hot air or if Daino actually has the goods. Given we have already thrown Wakeham into the fold with no results this could be the move that produces for us this season. Not saying he is a long term solution for us (may well be) but has the potential to be a game changer for 2023.

Great so see that he is getting a chance to stink it up in Reggies before throwing him in the deep end. I have wanted to see him at 5/8 because he plays what's in front of him and can be elusive. I just trust he doesn't try to overplay his hand.

While heads up play is great it has to be done within structure so the team can move around the park. Cody Walker is a good example of how to do that; except if you give him a good whack in the gob in the first five minutes. The Storm probably do it the best with Munster - totally off the cuff within a structure.

The problem is that the structure is provided by the 7. Our's doesn't have it in him so while Daino may become an upgrade from Wakeham we won't magically turn the corner.

Wests tigers won't be expected to go well in this game.
Why not constantly be niggling at opponents, get up in their faces.
Hard tackles that have them tasting the grass surface, constantly
Give them heaps so when they leave the field after 80 minutes, Manly players are battered / bruised and bleeding.

and of course the scoreboard will show
wests tigers 25
manly 18

IF Laurie and AJ drop out you would assume:
Talau to centre
Blore and Simpkin to bench

If the rumours are true about Talau requesting an early release, doesn't fill me with any confidence knowing he gets a starting spot...being our history with tanking players wanting out.

On the flip side, if he's playing against his new team, won't he want to put in a good performance to justify their decision!!!

I hope he can arrange some attacking structures for our team to not look like muppets playing hot potato in the mean time, that would be a fantastic start.

I thought Blore has been found out a few times the past weeks. Bad (rushed) passes and being gassed in defence. I think he can still make it, but he's missed a lot of football over a few seasons - he's being exposed.
Regularly naming him 18th man or giving him 15 minutes off the bench will fix that
