It’s quite simple, they were exhausted from continually having to defend due to far too many errors. The stats dont paint a pretty picture.
Missed tackles
Luai - 4
Hunt - 4
Toa -3
Hope - 3
Twal - 3
Madden - 3
Pole - 2
Fainu - 2
Tavana -2
All run metres
Taylan May - 150
Laulili- 141
Terrell May - 115
Turuva - 103
I still cant get my head around how our forwards were dominated so badly.
According to the nrl site we only had 5 more errors than the sharks. It’s quite simple, they were exhausted from continually having to defend due to far too many errors.
Yes he will be the difference.
We were talking earlier about this.According to the nrl site we only had 5 more errors than the sharks.
Surely you noticed we had hardly any ball, particularly in the 2nd half.According to the nrl site we only had 5 more errors than the sharks.
5% territory or whatever it was is almost a record our forwards did what they couldSurely you noticed we had hardly any ball, particularly in the 2nd half.
You can expect to overcome a little bit of adversity and bad luck, but no team would overcome as much extra tackling as what we ended up doing.
I thought I heard the commentators state we only had 3 tackles in their half in the second 40…Surely you noticed we had hardly any ball, particularly in the 2nd half.

Agreed, we made them look good. All they did well was run hard and tackle well. But we gave them so much ball and kept shooting ourselves in the footWe were talking earlier about this.
Sharks did not play that well really.
Some teams in this comp would have put a score on them today the way they played.
Get used to it its low hanging fruit. Some people call out the obvious issues. In this game it was the right edge and others will always blame Luai, Bula and to a lesser extent AD.Why are people pilling on Luai, he was involved in our only two tries.
Our forwards weren’t going forward in the second half and Tavana was dropping the ball in every aerial contest
Yes that was correct.I thought I heard the commentators state we only had 3 tackles in their half in the second 40…
I think Latu would’ve been given time if we didn’t need to sub Madden onYes that was correct.
Besides the errors that fatigued our players from constant defending, we did not get anywhere near the same impact from our backs out of yardage.
Taylan May really ripped in and was very strong besides his 2 brain snaps. Luke Laulilli ripped, made no errors, no defensive misses and did not let us down.
Turuva tried, but he just looks uncomfortable at fullback and is not real keen on attacking high balls. I think the extra workload at fullback effected his normal strong yardage carries and him being hesitant did not help Tavana either.
To’a offers next to nothing with his yardage carries and is a very poor defender.
Despite Tavana having a great game against the Warriors for us, I knew it was a mistake selecting him ahead of Skelton today, particularly when opposed to an extremely tall and athletic winger in Sam Stonestreet. Not saying we would have won the game, but big, strong wingers have worried Stonestreet in the past, so it was baffling why Benji made the call to play Tavana ahead of Skelton.
The other baffling decision was playing Hope for 80mins when he has missed so much game time from sitting on the bench as our 18th/19th man. This also meant Latu Fainu has missed another week with no game time. Benji has to get better managing this to give these players a fair chance when called up to play NRL.
Of course. They are never gonna both play when they on the bench together.I think Latu would’ve been given time if we didn’t need to sub Madden on
It’s a reality check. Saw posts the last couple of days talking about premiership windows. Someone today claimed there were only 4 chances to win the comp, and we were one of them. No, just..No.Stayed off the forum guys I was scared of racking up too many swearing points.
What a train wreck, can't believe what was happening in that game talk about coming back to earth with a thud.
It's probably been said but that effort from Toa was pathetic, defence was non existent full of misses and running up past the line then looking around for someone to blame.
Don't want to see him in 1st grade again, I wouldn't give him a game in Siberia.
I know madden has done a good job for us however i was hoping he would bring latu on instead to replace AD. That right side was vulnerable in D from the start and madden is a horrible defender.I think Latu would’ve been given time if we didn’t need to sub Madden on
Yes G, we have been watching them long enough to know sooner or later they will put in a stinker like that one, we can only hope there isn't 2 or 3 of them now. It’s a reality check. Saw posts the last couple of days talking about premiership windows. Someone today claimed there were only 4 chances to win the comp, and we were one of them. No, just..No.
And this is something else. Madden being a marque player. Again, no. He has his moments and is solid back up, but he’s a Sean O’Sullivan, Brad Schneider level player. Good back up, but not a starter.I know madden has done a good job for us however i was hoping he would bring latu on instead to replace AD. That right side was vulnerable in D from the start and madden is a horrible defender.
Sorry mate but this is a horrible take on that game. Absolute BS to lay the blame on the pack.Tavana dropped two kicks and knocked on once. He also took 2 bombs under pressure twice, he got no protection from his team mates and his centre really let him down.
Yes he cost 12 points but he wasn't scared to attack the ball each kick.
Our forwards let the team down today, it should have been the Tigers who dominated possession with that wind behind their backs in the 2nd half. It should have been the Tigers putting the Sharks under pressure with high kicks, with Tino contesting against Kennedy, kicks to the corners pegging them inside their half not the other way around.
