Rugby league history

What a great team Balmain had then. Plus two of the best goalkickers ever in the same team. Poor old Golden Boots retired that year and the Tigers won the comp the next year.
Keith Barnes was my favourite player back then followed by Dennis Tutty (I was 12) and I had a jersey with a number 1 on it.
Don’t have the jersey any more but I do have the tigers logo off it somewhere.
John Peard & Kevin Junee Wow! just Wow!

Going back a bit here, but this player was a Magpies legend even in his playing days ......

This infamous sledge was delivered by Bob "Bozo" Fulton, then coach of the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, to referee Bill Harrigan following a match in 1987.

The outburst occurred in the tunnel of Endeavour Field after Manly suffered an 18–13 loss to Cronulla. Fulton was incensed because Harrigan had sin-binned Manly halfback Des Hasler for feeding the ball into the second row of a scrum.

The Sledge:
Waiting at the tunnel entrance, Fulton told Harrigan, “Harrigan, I hope you get run over by a truck. I hope it’s a cement truck”.

The Penalty:
Fulton was subsequently fined $6,000 by the NSWRL—a significant sum at the time—and Harrigan did not referee another Manly game for 14 weeks.

The "Reminder":
In a legendary follow-up, when Harrigan finally returned to Brookvale Oval to referee Manly months later, a fan had reportedly parked an actual cement truck in the top car park as a "reminder" of the feud.
