Rumour re Forwards

I don't generally get into rumours, as in 90% of times they are wrong, but as this one is a bit more worrying than normal, I am just wondering if any one has heard anything about one of our better first grade forwards going to Manly next year. I heard it on Radio earlier this week, but the bloke that was talking about it sounded like he was on his way home from the Pub.
More importantly , I was told the same thing thing about two weeks ago, from someone who is involved at Manly, and he is someone that I have known for years and never says much about internal stuff at the club . I have no idea if it's true or not , but does anyone else
Have any info on the subject.?

halatau? he's been one of the better forwards for us this year.

Possibly, but I can't see manly picking up Halateau at this stage of his career, even though he has been one of our better players this year

Ken Maumalo would be a nice pick up
Centre
105 kg
191 cm
Only 20 years old and underrated is what I can find , could be well worth a look in a position we need to fill , he could be just like big Marty , just needs a team he can get into top grade and then go on with it
Charlie Gubb is under contract for 2015 and 2016 not sure if he is looking or they have asked him to look around but would also be a nice pick up

NZ are throwing a lot of cash at young guns & new signings….

They'll be letting a few go as well, would bet money on it.

We aren't the only club looking to scoop some of 'em up.

I'll throw another name into the 'rumour' ring… Luke Burgess.

Mate told me we are sniffing around, but wasn't sure how serious the interest was.

I know we need signings, but don't think the least talented Burgess brother is necessarily the answer here.

Being at the bottom of the table and no major signings for 2015 you would think we should at least look to improve our ordinary player roster for 2016\. Surely Blair, Thompson, Gravet and Austin should have freed some money and with players like Moltzen and Galloway reportly on the move we can at least go hard for one or two established players. I consider myself a true WT fan but will struggle to watch any games next year if we can find a way to improve our chances.

Its not the cap, we are broke. The club is not going to come out and tell the world their in a big hole at present, but it is obvious with our roster we are no where near the top of our cap and we have been linked basically with no one of any note for 2016, so their is only one explanation–we are suffering from a lack of dollars

I thought the knights & titans are broke also they seem to be signing players. Something underhanded happening here you can't release dozens of players every year & sign no one.

Knights and Titans are underwritten by the NRL.

We are not.

That's the gist of it.

If were that broke what's the point let's get underwritten also and start signing players.

My housemate bumped into Robbie last night in the city. Not sure if Robbie was telling him the truth or if he genuinely didn't know. But he told him that we hadn't signed anyone for next year at all and he would be back in a few weeks time.

FFS can idiots stop saying we are under the cap. It's Been said and proven in many threads that you HAVE to spend 92.5% of the cap in order to field a team. The 'we're $1mil under the cap' rubbish is just that. Our cap is a mess and will be until the end of next year. End of story.

Well from what I understand we are not spending the full amount of the salary cap. This is how we are paying back the money we borrowed from the nrl

Well for a start the money wasn't 'borrowed' by the Wests Tigers it was 'borrowed' by the Balmain RLFC…to meet their financial responsibility TO the WESTS Tigers...

Wests Tigers owe no debt to the NRL...

It's hard to fathom where all the money is going. In 2014 we received 7.5 million as our NRL grant. Wests Ashfield funded 2.2 million as per their financial report and the NRL paid 4 million to cover Balmains missed contributions. That's a total of somewhere between 13.5 and 14 million. Add income from merchandise, memberships and ANZ enticements which would probably add up to another .5 million.
We must have run up a hell of lot of debt if we are struggling to find money.

Ok perhaps you are correct. This was just what I was told by a former player

Another rumour. Will you ever learn.

Reported on news.com.au that Pauli Pauli has re-signed with parra.

Hopefully putting an end to the speculation he is coming to tigers.

I'm glad. That was a really poor match. He needs a stronger club and we need more reliable players.

I am surprised Parra re-signed him though, he hasn't been doing great. Though I think he will come good eventually. He has a big case of the Junior Moors at the moment.
