2017 team list time^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Geo I have been on this forum from a very young age, as a young kid I used to enjoy listing teams, I got over it as I matured…Unfortunately you and a few others don't seem to grow up?

Keep spare cash for Lodge

Agree, we need to keep cash for Lodges inevitable legal fees. The guy is a behavioural train wreck.

Just heard on Nine that we have a genuine shot at Dave Klemmer for 2017( off contract next year) due to his close friendship with Woodsy, his Origin teammate.
2017 can't come fast enough if this is true!

That's not wasn't in Marina Go's media statement this week. In fact her statement conveyed the opposite.

He doesn't want to leave Canterbury.

If you watch it again, they interview des, and he almost bites, I swear he is about to say, maybe we are a chance of signing woods.

But he holds himself back.

It must be a slow news day in the sports office at 9.

Klemmer chocked on his Kebab when he heard this .. if anything Woods will be putting the blue and white jersey on , seeing the Tigers are not signing anyone for 3 years!

The following article gives some insight as to how others see our best forward?

**The amazing Aaron Woods investigation**

It started with his hair. I started to pay particular attention to Aaron Woods in Game 3 of State of Origin and I noticed something wasn’t right.

So I re-watched Game 3 (the decider, when players should be at their best) with a notepad and pen, here’s what I found.

Woods conceded four penalties by himself and was lazy or belligerent the rest of the time.

At 7:48, Woods was penalised for lying on the tackled player (perhaps unlucky). Less than three minutes later (11:21) he was again penalised for lying on the tackled player.

A further minute passed before Woods hit Johnathan Thurston slightly late (12:46) but no penalty was awarded. On 16:56 Woods attempted an arm tackle on Aiden Guerra but was shoved away and fell flat on his back.

Seconds after, Woods failed to mark up and is clearly next to the actual marker. He was in an offside position and very lucky not to be penalised. On 24:55 Woods was again penalised for being offside when Cooper Cronk threw the ball into him from dummy half.

The performance continued in the second half with NSW penalised after James Tamou and (mainly) Woods holding up Greg Inglis.

Finally, in the back play on 73:57, well after the pass, Woods throws Thurston to the ground by his jersey not as part of a tackle. A squabble ensues. No penalty.

Now to be fair, I noticed Woods wasn’t a ball hog and is happy to pass the ball. He had many standard runs and tackles, although none seemed determined nor aggressive like some of David Klemmer’s. Woods also didn’t miss any tackles that led to tries, those were all conceded by the NSW back line.

However, I counted at least seven times when he flopped in on the tackle as the third man which struck me as lazy. I also noted that usually he could be seen walking slowly – not even briskly.

Lastly, I noticed he never produces hurtful tackles – he is an upright grabber. He rarely puts a hard shoulder into a tackle. Anyway, I googled Aaron Woods and found this June news item calling out Woods for lazy defence.

But, amazingly, people say he is Dally M material.

Folks, I’m going back to re-watch Game 1\. Clearly Woods has the physical tools to be a great prop, but from my first ever forensic look at the bloke I was gobsmacked by his laziness and lack of controlled aggression.

Hey Aaron, get a haircut and start YouTubing ‘Nathan Hindmarsh’, please!

don't change a thing aaron. you weren't robinson crusoe by having a below average game in soo3\. even the great JT ( not our JT ) has an ordinary game now and then.
woods often has two to three defenders attempting to stop him in club land. he plays way more minutes than most frontrowers in the competition and has never shirked it on the field.
who are the 'others' in the article ??
he may not get the overall dally M but he will go very close to prop of the year.
nathan who ?? you tube that tosser !!

Bags the crap out of Woods for third manning in tackles, and then asks him to Youtube Hindmarsh, who spent the last half decade of his career eking out high tackle counts off the back of flopping in late in tackles as the third man.

That depth of analysis is going to hurt any NSW player Game 3.

However just on pure stats, Woods still had a decent game. He is being criticised for being lazy or ill-disciplined, fair enough, he was. But for all the reputed threat and damage of Klemmer, Woods made 34 tackles (1 missed) and 11 runs for 91 m, Klemmer 22 tackles (3 missed) and 8 runs for 78 m. Klemmer didn't outpoint him in any way, except he made 90 cm more per run.

I have concerns with Woods being overpaid with us. I think he is a quality player but he isn't an impact player. Still SOO 3 was a terrible game from him.

Maybe re look at game 3 again and compare what he did compared to the other NSW forwards and how the team was going when he was on the bench.

Not just that, what about the fact the grub hodges elbowed woods in the face on the ground in front of the s**t reff, but no penalty!! Suprised, suprise…
Then when woods five minutes later does the same back he gets penalised.. Again suprise, suprise!!!!
It wasn't woods fault he thought that was state of origin footy.
It was really the lifting tackles that was the problem!

You're a knob with too much time on your hands? Seriously who wrote this dribble? They're happy with Klemmer but pretty much think Woods was the reason the Blues lost game 3? Let me guess this was on the Roar?

Blair and williams are both better than our current wingers.
Horo better than our second rowers.
