Won’t see first grade...

He is our 30th player to be compliant for a full squad by June 30th

Obviously musgrove couldn’t get registered.

Why would he sign with us to play CC. Why not go straight to England instead?

I’m extremely interested to see Madge try and justify this. Over the last month he’s looking increasingly like someone that has absolutely no idea.

@GNR4LIFE He will be playing and will also be given a new contract mark my words!

That wouldn’t be a shock. As I said earlier, why ruin your legacy as a one club player to play half a season somewhere else. It makes sense we’d sign him for 2020 as well. Well it actually doesn’t make sense, but you know what I mean.

@Snake - geez Snake its clear that you have a real disconnect with the club at the moment,
but using Parramatta as an example of how to run a club and a cap is a bit of stretch and shows how bitter you are. They have been the biggest underachievers in the NRL given the wealth of talent, home ground that has been rebuilt twice, healthy funds and leagues club, and huge supporter base, at their disposal for years and yet they cant convert that to success on the field. And thats without discussing their inept management that has been well documented and cost them dearly.

A lot of complaints about Madge, and they probably aren’t unwarranted. The club needs to gut it out with him. The last thing we need is for him to sign a heap of deadwood and leaving it for the next lamb to the slaughter. It’s up to Madge to see this through.

@hsvjones 100% true, people forget that the impossible can be done immediately, miracles take a bit longer

How long are we expected to wait? 2 years? 5 years? Eternity?

The amusing aspect to this is Timmy Mannah ran for 180 metres against Packer who ran for 25 in round 6.

Don’t be surprised if the Eels make a play for RCG or Waqa Blake. The silver lining would be Packer to Penrith.

That's exactly what I thought, aside from the silver lining. I don't think there's a chance of packer to Penrith, that would've happened with the DWZ trade.

This will enable the eels to strengthen their squad before June 30... We are competing with them for a top 8 spot. It's crazy

Wtf are we doing? No other club would take our prop playing reserve grade...wonder why??

@PabloX or to re-signing Aloiai.

Huh? Giving a contract extension doesn't use salary cap funds for this season.

Jesus! I go on a holiday to China for three weeks and come back to this:
1. No wins
2. Camp not happy
3. Pathetic, inept performance against raiders
4. DWZ a certainty. Ends up at the only club going worse than us - and we wanted him badly!!!
5. Mbye goes from happy captain to disgruntled child
6. Packer lost in space
7. We sign Tim Mannah
8. Jennings becomes a reserve grader (again)

Couldn’t connect to forum in China - thank the lord for that!!!!

Our retention and recruitment is, and has been for years, absolutely disgraceful. I’ve said it time and time again. Forumers want to bash me for it - well prove me wrong! Tim Mannah!!! - you are kidding me right?

DWZ - very astute purchase - except for the wrong club! WHY CANT WE EVER CLOSE THE DEAL ON THE PLAYERS THAT WE NEED!!

MAN, China wasn’t far enough away.
And another season turns to crap- oh that’s ok, we’re in a rebuild.
I’m a tad frustrated as you can tell. Maybe I need a holiday!

Thank you - thank you Tiger _Steve you have finally given me something to laugh about - this is so well put and serious at the same time.😢

This may help us get rid of Packer

It means we can just sit him on the sidelines and not pick him in any grades as we have done the last few weeks

Yes he can sit back and take his money but if he ever wants to play league again he may have to try and sought a new contract with his manager at a new club or he will be as good as done as a footballer

@upthetigers re-sign him now with 100k increase for this season. Why can’t you do that?

There are no performance bonuses in the NRL they're rewarded in their next contract. Well above board anyway. And if there was, Thompson would have been the first to get one.

@avocadoontoast He's a bench impact player, has no gas tank so I doubt he starts much. Hardly the most important player in the team.
