So in terms of the salary cap, offloading McQueen + Walker = signing Roberts and Burgess…

Yep, I love how the NRL wouldn't initially register Burgess because they were over the cap, but they have no trouble going after Roberts. Sickening.

Back to the original question, I'd say we're still in the market for a cheap prop, but you never know your luck when another club needs to squeeze someone out. Clubs like us and the Titans will be sniffing around whoever Roberts joins.

To be fair to Souths (not something I generally like doing but just this once).

They lost
- Isacc Luke
- Chris McQueen
- Glenn Stewart
- Dylan Walker
- Ben Lowe
- Joel Reddy

They have gained
- Sam Burgess and a couple of NSW CUp players

Thats a lot of players out even though they would have some upgrades on other players as well

Luke would have been on really good money as a top 3 hooker in the comp and Glenn Stewart was on a wack then you have Walker who was a test player and McQueen an origin player so if they signed Roberts who is a bloke with 1 good year behind him and 3 years of being a drunken idiot then its not that bad cap wise

The thing is, prior to signing Burgess they were already over the cap for 2016 and had to offload players just to fit him in. How they could now also afford Roberts is beyond me.
