In this day an age there should be no reason to start a war.
It seems to me Putin would rather see his country folk starve as a result of trade restrictions than to lose face and continue killing defenseless civilians.
End this stupid war now Putin.

I doubt if Putin's ego will allow it,there is a possibilty that if he keeps on reducing Russias conventional forces by attrition in a war he continues to lose that China may decide to "liberate" parts of his eastern empire in the next 2-3 years.China needs more land and the longer the fiasco in the Ukraine continues the weaker and more isolated Russia becomes.
The Russian people deserve better than what they have

Cobar do some research on the B.R.I.C.S. nations ...it stands for..
Brazil Russia India China South Africa.....
they trade with one another and other countries,more countries are joining them as trading partners..they will become super economies and are getting away from the US dollar...they trade with GOLD backed currencies(as well as precious metals and other commodities such as oil)...I think people watch to much tv and dont research enough....the US dollars are fiat money (not backed by anything)thats why they can print money at will and cause high inflation...
What the mainstream media tells everybody and what really goes on are 2 entirely different things...
Im not trying to criticise anyones opinion,I research lots of things and I encourage others to do the same because at this point in time things arent what they seem,the world is changing dramatically since the covid pandemic,the stock market is unstable and the world ecomomy is on the brink of collapse...
 
We can carry on about bricks and bats, or simply face the fact that Russia wrongly further invaded Ukraine's territory back in February.

The huge cost of lives and community infrastructure since 2014, including our fellow Australians that were amongst the 298 shot down from the sky in Malaysia Airlines flight 370 back then, lay solely at the feet of Putin and those that enable him.

I think China is too concerned about the ramifications about their exports being stopped the same that happened to Russia.
I think that they a more concerned about the almighty dollar, not to start anything atm.

Had a quick read of your post and it's very revealing. Thankyou.
These recent posts of mine in here is a rarity for me because as a lot of members know I tread a tight rope of emotions such as depression and anxiety and this thread often does my head in literally.
I basically checked in to make sure members were not overstepping the rules in expressing their opinions. It's a thread where it can become inflamed very quickly. This proves that politics is a full on topic.
No better example is Parliament Question Time which results in a lot of yelling, verbal abuse etc.....and this is done in a peaceful country.
I often feel guilty that I should be doing more for my country in a way of voicing my concerns over human rights, cruelty to animals and our environment.
I have served in the military and "done my bit" and was injured in the process. So when I do feel guilty I have to remind myself that I have served.
Having said all this, I can't hold back in saying that war resulting in the loss if innocent lives is totally unacceptable.
People point the finger at Russia. That's fair to say. But I challenge that in as much as there must be millions of Russian folk, just like you and me who are loving, caring and beautiful people. People who value family life and are led blindly by a lunatic.
I just want it to end in a peaceful way and for the mending to begin.... for the sake of the innocent.

I know I’m oversimplifying this but why don’t people just leave Russia on mass? I know I would.

Mate love your post,but as I said do some research about the recent referendum in Ukraine and why the 4 areas in question were annexed by Russia...
I dont want a one sided argument or spite toward me or anyone else for stating what I will in my post...
Firstly in 2014 a duly elected candidate was overthrown by a coup mainly backed by billionaire George Soros of Nazi origin and the US...
the 4 areas in question are all Russian speaking and mostly native to Russia..
They have been raped,murdered,degraded and left out of Ukrainian lifestyle such as been given jobs or benefits...the Nazi Azov battalion have also killed and maimed their own people...
Its well and good to point the finger directly at Putin when not everybody knows the history behind this "special military operation" ...Putin may well be what alot of people are told he is and maybe he may not ,who knows Im not there in Russia or the Ukraine and as we know there is always 2 sides to the story...
Funnily enough the mainstream media are saying everything from an illegal referendum to an invasion,yet 98% of the people in those 4 areas voted to be part of Russia,so ask yourself why?maybe they know more than we do ...

Still happening brother, just recently a lot were killed. I see the headlines and bury my head in the sand and get depressed about it.

If you had an AK 47 pointed at your head you would most probably vote with Putin.
