Ryan Cross may still be a tiger in 2012

he is married to one of my 2nd or 3rd cousins. i'll see if i can find out anything. he turns 33 next year so he might not be as quick as he used to be. i havent really watched him much in rugby so i dont know. he used to be a pretty good centre. he played for city origin twice. if we were to sign him for 1 year on the first grade minimum wage then that would be ok but no more.

RR: Former Rooster Ryan Cross, is keen on a return to the NRL. He believe he has a 'couple more years left in him'.

I'm pretty sure I saw him last Tuesday evening in Pitt street mall after a vendor christmas party.

So he's in Sydney..

PS I hope not - we have tons of young talent to focus on.

RR: There was nothing concrete in that. Was more discussing a potential move back. Cross hasn't been linked to anyone, yet.

Does anyone think theres still a chance he can come to the tigers??

I hope not,we have Lawrence,Ayshford,Brown and some promising young kids,we don't need him.

Would not surprise me if he ends up with us , as long as he is on a minimium contract i guess that wouldnt be to bad, but there would be a few backs in front of him.

Lots of little contracts Vs another solid contract.

We got so much talent coming through I worry that this will signal a block on these youngsters and force another out.

We've got a thowsand outside backs. Reddy, Brown, Grant, Utai, Simona, Evans, the list goes on. I would only sign or use Cross as a last resort due to a hefty injury toll. Having said that he may have been handy this year when Lawrence and Daniela became injured. So long as he doesn't chew up too much cash and doesn't keep a deserving youngster out of the side, the more the merrier.

We could sign him for the new reserve team. But his price tag would be too high.

Other teams need him more

Sounds like some would be cross if he did sign, some sound like they have their fingers crossed he does. If he does he will add depth but like most i dont think we need him.

Just imagine if there was a reserve team…The Tigers have some depth next year.... So hard to pick as there are so many good players

I know given the links his family has with the Tigers Balmain were really dissapointed to miss out on him at the start of his career.

As others have said we do seem to be pretty well covered in the backs and I dont think he would be a guy willing to run around in the state cup. Perhaps moving Lawrence to five-eight and Benji to half? There have been a few hints about that in the past couple of years.

Move Benji to half & Lawrence to 5/8 to accommodate Cross, i dont think so as we have better options then Cross.

Just to clarify I'm not calling for that - just looking at possible scenarios being considered by the club.

"I wouldn't want to come back for nothing but if the right opportunity came along ..

Umm yeah, good luck with that Ryan.

spend the money signing up 4 or 5 16 years. They are hungrier and much better value.

one of those 4 or 5 might turn out to be ryan cross in the making.much better economics.
