Can i start by saying that im sick of all these transfer rumors as much as the next person all this innuendo & secrecy is doing my head in.But i don't post anything that is not 100% true & i always feel a bit uneasy posting things on this forum regarding inside knowledge because i know how out of hand things can get on hear.Anyway if the mods feel that they dont want anymore rumor headaches (which this one is not it is fact)feel free to delete it.

Before everyone get there knickers in a twist its NOT big money as Cross will have a day job as of 2012 but we have tabled Ryan Cross a contract. If he takes it or not is another issue but the offer has been made

How old is Cross, and where do we fit him in,or is it just cover for Rowdy and Blake?

Ayshford will be lock in 2012

Is this your opinion,or do you know something,is this why we are looking at Vidot,to play centre which by the way is his normal position.

We nearly signed him when he first came to league but then went for Shannon nevin instead, great choice.

Probably had more to do with the buckets of cash the Roosters threw at him. Shannon Nevin looked like a smart buy at the time (as I recall he was more intended to replace Tim Brasher) - he looked really good at Manly. As you suggest he played like rubbish for Balmain and then vanished.

Cross would not be a bad value buy but I'd hate to think he was our first choice centre. The guy has some serious defensive issues - even for union he was poor.

You'd have to question why Sheens would want to move Ayshford from centre. As I said in another post, Ayshford's form at centre has been one of the bright spots this year. Personally I think he'd be wasted there at the moment.

No its my opinion. It seems that way but, seeing that Heighnington has been told that he would be used off the bench in 2012

What if Cross was being signed to play fullback?

Or better- Chris Lawrence moves to fullback & Cross fills the centre role?

I know people will poo-poo the idea of moving Lawrence, but I figure if he goes to fullback his touches will triple- the more he gets the ball, the better in my opinion.

That was along the lines of my thinking as well Chadman

Alot still up in the air. Exciting if somewhat trepidatious times ahead

Cross wouldn't be the worst signing in the world. However if we want a center I'd prefer to sign Vidot and give him a crack, see if he can fulfill his junior talent in his preferred position

I'm not a fan of buying union players. Even if they have played League before they lose their defensive technique and more so their ability to read the game after a stint in the rah rah. If we can get em cheap i suppose they are worth the risk.
There is a kid running around in grade rugby currently i know the ARU are desperate to keep but its looking like he might get snapped up by the Roosters. Dan Gardiner. I saw him score an individual try one game with a magic dummy to the touch judge. Hilarious. He is a forward so he won't come up on our radar.

Heighno has been told to look elsewhere so Ellis can play lock. It was expected Ellis would move up to the front row, but with lock these days playing tighter just like a front rower, Sheens has decided to put Gareth in the 13.

Ryan Cross??? Rated him highly in his prime, not sure about now though. Hate to see Ayshford suffer to accomadate and oldie. IMO, Ayshfords move to the pack is 4 years away

I was wondering when someone on this forum would wise up to this player. I have seen Gardiner play and he does look extremely promising. Plays in the back row but could easily play centre or 5/8 as he has good speed and hands. You would think the ARU is trying to keep him under wraps for the 2015 World Cup but I have heard there has been issues in the negotiations. Perhaps the Roosters are causing the problems. If so, I hope Wests is also weighing in with an offer.
