Sack Sheens Thread

Stuart gets a bad rap from people on here for god knows what reason. He's a premiership winning coach for gods sake. Sure he's a jerk, but to say he can't coach is just idiotic

the irony…...Your argument for Stuart's credentials is that he has won a premiership, but constantly call for Sheens sacking despite his 4 premierships

I think that Stuarts style gets results for a short period, but getting players to grind and grind wears them down very quickly. His disposal of halfbacks in particular is an issue, not a fan of Stuart at all,

There is such a thing as getting stale Goose regardless of how good you are or how many premierships you've won. I've never said the man can't coach, i just question his selection policy, which even the most staunch Sheens fan would have to scratch their head over at times. I just wouldn't mind someone else taking the reigns. Would be realy interesting to see how Marshall and Farah go under someone different. And why not Stuart? he IS a premiership winning coach. We missed the finals for 4 consecutive yrs from 06-09, surely Stuart couldn't do any worse then Sheens did in that period. Sheens certainly didn't lose any supporters during that time. At the end of the day i think the only reason people on here don't rate Stuart is because they hate him

I question Stuarts selection policy in the SOO .... How the hell does Jamie Buhrer get picked ?

How do you know if someone else did come in, as ultimately one day they will, it might spark a mass exodus of players. Sometimes it's just better to have the devil you know ....

Great to see the pro Tim faction having our day in the sun

I'm sure when the ineviteable comes and we lose a few the sack Sheens lobby will be back in business.

Where would this forum be without it !!

I use a different system Ink …. Like all good Accountants, we can usually twist the numbers to suit ourselves. Lol
Fourth position in a field of sixteen = 75% success rate for mine ..... That puts him well under par in golfing parlances.

Not much of a bean counter bob when you havent taken the two teams under us that - when you give them the one bye weve already had - it puts them both ahead of us.

Next.

Ah yes … But you have overlooked one small minor detail ... You see I expect us to win this weekend which keep us ahead of the Teams you would have above us hence I stand by my 75%.

ignoring the past, i think WT would be better served with someone new in charge.
past doesnt look that good either

He deserves to finish his time and then we can all support the next bloke or bag him what ever tickles your fancy! But he deserves his time as he has earned it even though he has his seniors moments occasionally, there could be a method to his madness somewhere?

Three words for me, Sheens for coach. People get on here & bag him if we win or loose, when he took over we were a basket case, now we play good footy & are competitive we could be doing a lot worse.

I never want to be a basket case again. Tim Sheens gets my vote to stay for another 10 years.

Assuming this club will revert back to being a basket case after he leaves is just plain stupid

The people who question Sheens appointment are labeled as anti Sheens. The fact is most of us have stated many times we think he has been a great coach over the years and more importantly a great coach for us but like anyone their comes a time to move on and I think that was probably a couple of years ago.

He has a contract and the club are highly unlikely to pay him out under any circumstances so this thread is pointless.I really think with our playing roster most people with good coaching credentials would do a very good job.

On a side note, the pro Sheens faction after loss say we cant blame the coach and its the players who are at fault, so using that logic why do we give the coach the praise for a win?????

From where I sit I don't mind if Sheens keeps the job to the end of his contract but I do think we could do better with a new vision–but its not going to happen

pretty much sums it.

Stuart was a great player…....that is all

I'd be happy for Sheens to be replaced by a quality coach. Stuart though is someone who does not fit the criteria. This is where my concern is. You want to see improvement not regression.

Stuart is a person to me who could end up making us a basket case again.

I agree, and also I do not like to see our new coach someone who nearly destroyed Cronnola nor someone who was thrown out from the Dogs, nor someone who was not good enough for Parra.
IMHO, Brian Smith before any of them, and this says something :frowning:
I do not support a change for the change sake, once Sheens is gone we need a coach who will attract players to Tigers and prevent what is happening with Mainly.
IMHO, the only coaches of that stature are Bellamy, Hasler or Bennett.
In this forum we talk of Slater, Thurston, Williams etc. but when the next coach is discussed we discuss only 'third tier' coaches, and we talk about Stuart, Folkes, Anderson etc. To me this is equivalent as instead of Slater we discussed Adrian Purnell
I thought we have learned something from Lamb experiment

Go Tigers

Geez by the way you talked about them, you wouldn't know that 2 of those 3 'third tier' coaches are premiership winning coaches, and the third has coached 2 different sides to GF's from impossible positions. Well said 😕

it's the crash and burn factor that is the problem.
the quick drop off from contender to rabble at both clubs doesn't fill people with much confidence.
