Sack Sheens Thread

sheens said we lost momentum when we went off for halftime…ahh ok...

Actually Timothy Sheens what happened is the Bulldogs finally got some ball in our half. The Bulldogs played there worst half of footy of the year last night in the first half and we only just got out of it in front. I think the Dogs had 7 chances on our line all night and came away with 6 tries and the other we just got out of..JUST.

They scored the first set from the kick off and went back to back (or close to it).

We simply switched off at half time

Not the time to discuss coach sackings. Maybe start fresh 2013 but we are still rolling (although hitting some bumps) for 2012

I agree, if wests-tigers do not make the finals this year, then all aspects need intense scrutiny.

for the moment let's hope the team, and coaching staff can get their act together, and start winning enough game to ensure a top 8 finish. :sign:

Seriously …. What can sheens tell the boys week in week out that he hasn't already said ??? Sheens is to familiar with his players / won't drop anyone for a bad performance , he is stale and needs to be shown the door at seasons end ( no matter where we finish) . We need a fresh start with a new leader.

so by sacking sheens does everyone think that will solve any problems ?? Our first grade squad are big boys they should know how to tackle without sheens telling them how . They should know how to hold onto the ball . It seems its always the basics that we cant get right .We have had our fair share of injuries as well but I must admit there have been a few slections that i dont agree with .but at this point i cant see a better replacement for him .

yup blame the ENTIRE team.

26 years. Wow. But didn't he leave Essendon in good hands? I don't know, don't follow that sport, much.

no he did not it took them 4 years to get back on track, and when sheens leaves we will face the same problem.

Thats only because Matthew Knights (his replacement) was hopeless. It was kind of an Ivan Henjak type appointment

Here we go again, seems any loss means we sack the coach. We played the team coming second without our captain and best player, our best forward and our first 2 choice fullbacks. We lost a winger and were forced to defend a second rower in centre and a centre on the wing for most of the game, 3 tries were scored in thru breaks in that area, and it was still 20 all with 10 to go.
This does not strengthen your case to sack the coach.

FYI Melbourne have now lost 3 of there last 4 as well.

We think Sheens is long in the tooth, Kevin Sheedy was at the Bombers for 26 yrs

Yeah but the Bombers were competitive and successful over the majority of that period….can the same be said for us? Even when we won the comp it was on the back of a winning streak toward the end of the season.

We ran top 4 the last 2 years and won a premiership in his tenure….hardly struggling

The theory that the calls for a coaching change only come after a few losses is a complete myth

And lets not forget the Dogs were woeful in the 1st half, probably played their worst half of football in 2012\. I agree we were never going to win that game with the team we had at our disposal but I do say it is time for a change, the tactics, pre match speeches, selections, bench use, recruitment and most other things with the football operations side of things is not working or the players are not listening. 2012 has been a disaster from day one

Our season looks almost certain to be over at halftime and I can't remember a worse performance ever.

Our board won't make changes which is certainly needed. Is it time for our members and fans to make a stand and demand action?

The players need a good hard look at themselves but the coach isn't doing his job. Same old issues years after years.

I am pretty angry right now so don't want to suggest anything right now but what does everyone think?

I want to sack Sheens but this performance isn't really his fault. It's not his fault that Utai is being targeted and utterly crumbling.
