Sack Sheens Thread

So far - over a 100 people have signed the petition. As suggested by another fourm member - I have uped the target to 1000 signatures. I will personally deliver the petition to concord once we hit the numbers.

If you havent already done so and feel that way inclined - sign the petition and make your voice heard.

I am sure most people on this forum will sign the petition but i honestly doubt if you will reach 1000 not everyone has access to the internet.I think that you would be better off doing it in conjunction with a petition at the game on saturday and handing both in next week to the club while the season is still very fresh in peoples minds.

Sheens was the right person to coach in 2003 but he should have left after 2007 new ideas and direction is required

Thanks for starting the petition ken - lets all get on there and make Humphries take notice!

I too have been a fence sitter on this, but am warming to the idea that maybe a change is due. In the past i was always conscious of losing our marquee players if they remained loyal to Sheens, but seeing how Benji's game has suffered this year, I am not sure this argument still holds true. I would be more supportive if he shouldered some of the blame for this season via some of his selection decisions and sticking with players who have been out of form.

I was just watching Grandstand on the ABC and the AFL bit was on talking about the Carlton coach who has been at the club for 5 years. After the loss against the Gold Coast on the weekend which if Carlton won would have put them in the 8, his tenure as coach is under threat and the board will make a decision at the end of the season.

So they (Carlton) do not accept failure nor below average performances, from players and coaches, why can't we have similar strength from our board ?

It's time WT Board !

Ok so this is a poll only, if you want to have a whinge or a cry about the coach , please use one of the many other threads about the coach .

Factoring in the following :
- is there a good AVAILABLE replacement ?
- the effect on the playing roster ?
- the possibility of getting worse not better

If you could change the coach for season 2013 , would you do it ?

Please give a Yes or a No

Ok, so everyone is mad at the way the tiges are playing or have been. Sure its only a game, but we pay for merch and memberships and to enter the grounds to watch. So if everyone wants change then we need a unified voice to let them know we are upset at the way the club is going.

The petition is great, but surely there is something else we can all do so the club knows their supporters arent happy, besides not renewing memberships…

what dont people understand. He WILL be there in 2013\. We will make the 8 then he will be here again in 2014 and so on. Please enough with the sack sheens threads. Better thing to do is action and sign the petitons scattered throughout the forum, its got to start somewhere. We keyboard warriors can do little but frustrate as well. But yes, we are listening!

Someone feel free to add the anti Sheens petition link to this thread also. Share the love.

Its been a bad year year with injuries & whatever, but you cant just blame the coach. **Sjeens didnt miss a tackle or drop the ball, so maybe the players shoiuld take some blame**.

By this analogy no coach should ever get sacked. It may be harsh on the coach but thats just the way things are, when things aren't going well he's always the one whose job is on the line. I mean seriously if its not his job to rectify dropped balls and missed tackles what the hell is he doing there? is being a coach just a novelty then? 12 yr old mentality. And as far as injuries go, we couldn't have had a worse injury run then 2011 and yet we finished in the top 4 so thats a cop out as well

if you take the "he's not dropping balls so it's not his fault" ideology, to it's logical conclusion, then they'll have to agree to "he's not creating the overlaps or scoring the tries". In which case he's equally useless to the team.

For the 1st time in 10 years I got a gut feeling Sheens MAY resign this off season. I'm not saying it's likely, i just think its a rough chance of happening. I have no mail, no sources, just starting to get that feeling he looks deflated. Especially if we get turned over on Saturday Night with another 20 point loss and finish the season on a huge low.

People on here say he is never questioned in the media, however at the end of 2008 and 2009 he was under some pressure from the media. Some were calling for his head, and the fans were in a similar meltdown. He did claim at the time that should he miss the finals again, that he would walk away. He seemed pretty adamant about this. Since then he has had 2 fair seasons which has eased the pressure right back down to 0 again at the start of 2012.

However given his 4 straight failures from 2006-2009 it was only ever going to take one more failure for us to be going mental again. I just get the feeling that maybe he might fall on his sword. Despite him being stubborn and pig headed he looks a very decent bloke who does love the Tigers. Maybe his love for the club will tell him that these players deserve another voice after 10 years to progress their careers.

There was an air of resignation in his voice in the press conference on Sunday. He looked dejected, there was no real fire in his voice about us coming out to beat Melbourne and bounching back. He looked dumfounded by the performance. Almost saying, these blokes arent playing for me anymore.

I might just be the same old script he have seen before. Roll out the excuses, say your sorry and promise a better season in 13\. However for the first time I think he might know it deep down and I think he might walk. If he left now he leaves a very decent legacy despite the inconsistency over the years. If he resigned on Saturday Night I reckon every Tigers fans if they saw him would shake his hand and say thank you for turning this club into a better club then when you arrived. However the longer he stays the more the hatred grows. Hates a strong word but many Tigers fans almost feel that way about him, which is sad.

Like i said i might be totally wrong but i reckon he might be at least entertaining these thoughts.

Eddie, we are talking Tim Sheens mate, he will never walk while he has a contract in his hand. He could be pushed and takes the payout but he will not walk.

He did look a shattered man, but after next week end their will be no media focus as that will be pointed at the final teams and he will go away on holidays and come back a refreshed man ready to do it all again in 2013 with all the same methods that failed him in 2012 and much the same playing strength at his disposal but a year older.

I also think the club would probably like him to stay one more year so they can try and attract the right person for 2014 and may try and do a sweat heart deal, and that makes sense when you think of it.

Interesting times ahead and with the players he has at his disposal it would be hard to see him not improve in 2013
