I have only seen limited time on this guy . He looks size body wise a million dollars but didn't see much impact in the games I seen . But I could imagine a guy with all his POTENTIAL going to a top side and killing it behind a great pack. Funny wat playing in the roosters or broncos side will do for your motivation and career .

Lovett has never stood out in any grade, he's been solid, and had a good work rate but he's no more a standout than Matt Hyland was. Santi was always the standout between the two. Lovett tries his ass off, i'm sure trains hard, and does as he's told. His effort is clearly visible.
He's more stable than an Akauola who is high impact attack and defence, but error prone and misses tackles. But he's not what we need right now. He gets dominated in 95% of the hit ups he takes. Doesn't dominate in 95% of the tackles he makes. Doesn't threaten the line, nor offload. When you have others who are doing all these things then having one solid worker in the background is ok. When the whole team isn't getting the performance someone like Lovett stands out more.
Funaki was known in preseason for being the hardest hitter and runner in the team. The other forwards commented how they didn't like to tackle him or be tackled by him such was his power. I gather it's the clubs injury crisis and imbalanced squad which has screwed him. Rather than play in hist best position he's played at prop and centre. 2 positions which don't allow him to show his real capabilities (similar with lovett at centre).
It seems he got frustrated at not getting a go at his position when 8-9 others were and seemingly not always on merit either. I guess he eventually got fed up, asked the coach for a go in the back row and has now been sent packing.
But an intelligent, hard hitting and running back rower sure would be handy right now. Especially given how much Liolevave has been struggling in NSW Cup, the fact Funaki wasn't given a shot was criminal.

Needs to be put on the bench for top grade and told to get out there and show the coaches what he has , our season is over so it's time to test out the possible keepers now not in pre season
