Sam Mclntyre

Realistically, we may have to offload mck to keep him. Mck showed glimpses of match winning quality last year. But with the roster spots on the decrease we need to offload in order to keep the ones we want. Sad, but this is the chaos the nrl have created for players. Guys being shoved out the door when clubs would otherwise keep them. Some may even be left unemployed but get a payout.

It's harsh but it's reality. Hope we keep Sam. Has a role to play

Didn't realise he is 108kg. Wow, he's pretty big. Probably doesn't need to be any bigger. I love what I've seen of him. He has a good future in the NRL. Hopefully it is with us.

NGL at first he was just a mediocre forward making up the numbers. Now he is a workhorse and I love him. We have some good young forwards.
Stef manu
Blore
Mcintyre

That's where the narrative is incorrect. It was clear from his running game and tackling technique in U20s and NSW Cup he was an NRL player. He has far more to offer than being a workhorse. No need to pigeonhole him. Other players like Aloiai and Mikaele need to make huge improvements to their defensive techniques,

Well said
I think his best asset will be his ball running and footwork for a big lad.huge potential ?

Didn’t Pom say he had a 2 year extension?

I don't recall him saying that but I hope it's the case.

Been on his case from day one and copped plenty of flak when I was advocating his selection. He did spend time playing in the backs last year in reggies, so It is no surprise he has good footwork. Anyway he is one of the few bright spots to come out of another ordinary season. I just hope it’s not another JAC situation where another club gets under our guard while we are trying to make a decision

I think The POM said that of the 10 players off contract, McIntyre was the only one we were keen to keep and that they were in talks with him.

The wanted to offer Eisenhuth a one year extension, but told him it was in his interests to look elsewhere because we may not be able to make an offer.

You say it like it's a bad thing? MCK hasn't shown enough to suggest he's worth burning a squad spot on.

Interestingly MCK was mentioned with the whole halftimegate debacle as being out injured.
His last injury was his concussion from the Eels game.
Does anyone know how he is tracking?

Yes, he wants to stay here.
Loves the boys
Thinks Madge is a great coach
Just waiting for the offer.
There are 4 other clubs in the negotiations as well

So we've got some competition...any inkling as to whether the Tigers want him?

Madge and harty have booth said they want him to stay so time will tell, hopefully they come up with something

Oh no, Chee Kam is signed up for 2021 as well. He certainly seems to be out of Madge's plans moving forward. Would love to have McIntyre take MCK's spot.

I wonder if Madge hasn't told MCK to look elsewhere as well.

Dont rate Gagai at all in club games despite him getting 3 tries before

Fingers crossed, he's been consistently solid since coming into FG and his defence cannot be understated.

A coach I had in school used to drill us on defence and he would go ballistic at the boys who played Balmain reps because they taught a technique of leading with the shoulder that he disagreed with (can't remember specifics it was 20 yrs ago).

When you see Mac, Twal and hopefully Blore etc come out of different systems with good techniques I wonder about his comments, maybe he was on to something.

Or even offloading someone like Bradley. If we're looking at jac, Saab, Staines etc then we really don't need Bradley, as well as Nof, Talau, AJ etc. We have limited spots and the drop from 30 to 28 really kills us. We have to offload not only the contracted big money guys like reynolds and packer, but also players who aren't in our plans like mck, bradley. But if they can't get an nrl contract elsewhere they won't agree to terminate their contract, which is totally understandable.

He's one bloke we have barely heard about since we signed him. He's got a good build to be a damaging edge backrower but it's hard to know where the club sees him, or whether they want him.
