Save Our Sides Protest Rally - SUN 05FEB11

for what little it's worth wearing black is a great way to overheat really quickly. Not ideal for a high intensity sport.
and Magpies do have plenty of white on them

That blog is pretty ridiculous

WT jerseys should be designed so the Magpie logo and sponsors logo are not hidden…it should be considered when the jersyes are designed and printed.
Everyone knows most players roll them up a bit then tape....
The sponsors logo would never be allowed to be taped over...it seems the magpies not as important....it was once above the sponsor
Valid point...its not that difficult a problem.

It is a valid point and it's not that difficult a problem to solve. A reason to rally??? Pretty soft reason if you ask me.

Its not THE reason…its one.
Whats soft to you may be important to others.

It seems the press release has ruffled a few feathers. Wonder if it has had made any suits raise an eyebrow.

Still trying to figure out who is organising all this and what part Wests Football club is playing in it.

Galahs has actually stated that's not a reason they are rallying, but I can understand the sentiment regarding the Magpie. It doesn't hurt either club, nor Wests Tigers, to have it situated where it was initially.

It doesn't concern me either way, but I agree that if it upsets some, it's not hard to rectify.

I'm thinking if some Magpies supporters are going to hold a rally to bring shame to the WESTS TIGERS brand, whos with me to rally to support WESTS TIGERS are more importmant than WESTS OR BALMAIN on the same day?

The 2011-12 Wests Tigers Jersey is similar to the 2008 Wests Tigers - Balmain Heritage jersey.

Its a joke.

Stephen Humphries lied when he said the jerseys were a split from Balmain and Wests. What a lie. It is the most Balmain type jersey the joint venture has ever had.

Stephen Humphries ever growing lack of honesty is only matched by one other previous Rugby League official. And there is no coincidence there.

How many schools in the Liverpool , Macarthur, Campbelltown are were visited by Wests Tigers player in 2011 Stephen ???

You are a disgrace.

There are many that have not been visited for years, where as a number of schools in the Balmain area have been down every year sometimes twice a year. :unamused:

Hey Bug what right do you have in calling any one a disgrace? Just not cricket mate!!! and I guess you have visited every school in the district and have the results!

Really you seem to be an expert but dont equate with any facts….you shouldnt make a statement unless you can back it up with evidence...

I think your first little reply was a disgrace tigers05\. Did you read any one else's posts before replying? Bring shame on the wests tigers brand.? The better part of what the rally wants to achieve, would ultimately help the wests tigers.

Fix up the junior league?? What shame that would bring!? Your comprehension skills is the disgrace.

WSDRLFC can be proud of their efforts in the way they looked after their junior leagues.

I sat down with delegates of certain local football clubs today.

You guys can huff and puff all you want, try and twist my motives etc etc.

If you seriously think Rugby League is in good shape in the Macarthur, I challenge you to come and meet the people on the ground and listen to what is being done by the Junior League with Wests Tigers help to stifle anyone who dares to try and make a change for the better.

Rugby League in the Macarthur is rotten to the core.

We will have our rally, you don't have to attend if you don't want to, that is your choice but hearing what I did today makes me even more determined to draw attention to the neglect.

Galahs I really think 95% of people on this forum are fully supportive of improving junior league in the Macarthur area. I think the objections come from the merging of this issue with other issues that have little to no relevance to junior league.

WSDRLFC ARE THE ONES WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE JUNIORS IN THE MACARTHUR AREA NOT THE WESTS TIGERS!!!!!

I told you in a PM the story of a particular club in the WSJRL when they held an auction night to try and raise funds to pay for the rego of every kid that played for that club to try and get kids off the streets. When this club approached WSDRLFC for any kind of donation, they got NOTHING!!!!!! NOT A CENT!!!! They wouldnt even approach Wests Tigers for this club.

If you look at things from the Wests Tigers point of view, if they took the front foot and started doing things, they'd be accused of trying to overtake the responsibilities of WSDRLFC!

Damned if they do and damned if they dont!

There Galahs, I've challenged you!

The WSDRFLC hasn't run the Juniors since at least 2001\. The Junior League is its own private company affiliated to who knows? Not the Magpies, maybe the NSWRL maybe Wests Tigers. You ask and no one will tell you.

Mate I'm sorry about your story. I don't know the details. I don't know who you asked. Obviously we can't give out merchandise to everyone who asks, mostly because we don't have much to give away. We can't give money away because we don't have enough as it is.

Why didn't you contact the Wests Tigers directly for a signed jersey?

I'm not affiliated with this junior leagues club anymore but can't you see the irony in all of this?? The WDRLFC wont help the juniors but expect to be represented by the same juniors they've turned their back on when it comes time for rep footy. If the Wests Tigers step up like they said they would, shouldn't these junior technically then play for the Wests Tigers and not the Wests Magpies?

@galahs said:
You can't see the problem with our region losing its last senior rep side?

I'm saying that juniors (say U/14s) don't give up their nights and weekends so they can play for the Magpies Bundy Cup team. Plenty of juniors on the Central Coast and no rep state/bundy cup team.

Why would Under 14's be playing Bundy Cup?

What about kids 19 - 24 who can't fit into an ever crowded Wests Tigers outfit

Sorry, no offence. I don't get what you are saying?

No offense take mate, I should have been clearer….

If the Wests Tigers are going to pump money into both Balmain and Wests junior leagues, like they said they would, basically financing all their programs and training equipment, shouldn't these kids play for the Wests Tigers technically?
