I don’t think Fulton did too bad job at all.
He was recruited without the knowledge of Tim and Benji in the secret board meeting.
Lee and Co realised after a handful of rounds that the Sheens resurrection had backfired and instead of coming back from the dead, he was dragging us into the grave.
So tweak his tail and sack his recruitment mate and do it as underhandedly as possible. Tim was gone as a force and saviour at that point. Which proved to be the right decision, but given Lee and Justin helped cause the problem at first instance, that’s little comfort. Throwing a bucket of water on a burning house at that point.
Who could forget Tims “Brooks is wonderful” nonsense. We “improved” all the way to the spoon. A period of “ negative growth”
Before he got sacked, Lees interview about no one being guaranteed a job but things were improving. I wondered how many spoons we would need before we finished improving?!
And Tim slinking off back home to England. Just disappeared into a sink hole. Even the deadbeat Ivan texted the players goodbye. It’s the thought that counts I guess.
Looking ahead, I think Cogger was the better deal, especially long term. He finished last season on the high note Fulton predicted.
But all that said, Fulton imploded when he spoke to Zorba and the salad affair came to light. The inference of Benji getting a dollar from the deal was not ideal for club harmony. Talk about dirty laundry. Really nasty allegation for anyone. I have my usual Benji issues but I would not sink that low.
I think Fulton made a miscalculation, simply underestimated Benjis power and influence.
We need a recruiter, I like the dogs guy. He’s got a fair chunk of players but cc can’t get them motivated. What he’s done to Burto and Co, he should be arrested.
Anyway, Fulton is not worth dying on a hill for, but before he strayed out of his lane, he had a go. More importantly, he was a nice wad of kindling for the end of Lee and Co. Ironic that they appointed him, then again, they were so incompetent it’s perhaps unsurprising!
