If he doesn’t support the coach his position can’t remain. It’s very simple. We will see once they play games for us if his recruitment was a pass on recruitment. His role however doesn’t get a pass for me because he couldn’t keep his views on Benji to himself / support what Benji wanted which was just dumb especially at a club with high media focus, a history of punting coaches infighting.
Yes, it was a surprising political move by Scott and his team, which underestimated the strength of Benji and his allies.
I think Scott sensed a weakness and he struck a cruel and harmful blow. I said it before, I am not a Benji person, but even if he had skin in the game with salad, the differences should have been aired privately or taken to Justin or the Board.
So I understand your concern. If he’d gotten away with it, Benji would be waiting for the next grab at his throat.
So much for Lees threat of defamation for Peters. Talked the talk and we all knew it was his usual bluster.
Benji denied it and it all got swept under the tail. I don’t know the truth to this day, push comes to shove, I’d back Benji, even if I’m wrong.
Harto and Madge had that shocking public blow up at the airport that day.
Scott’s signings are untested but so is Benji as a coach.
I guess the jury remains out on so many of our issues.
But as a paid up member, skin in the game, I’m ok to be sketchy about a few things. Plus it’s in the fan DNA!
I’m hoping Benji can get the players to optimum, thread the needle, but we are still new to this change, adjusting and hopefully learning.
