Possibly. Don't think that's a crazy theory at all,
Pascoe & Hagipantelis were known to be sly.
Fulton was behaving above board, riding the coat
tails of his old man. You can see the arrogance
seeping off him in the poddy with Chris Warren.
Benji, Betsey & Richo handling recruitment is
*chefs kiss*. Onwards and upwards in 2024
 
Was always going to be one or the other and it just underlines the fact the previous management didn't have a clue. Richo has had his feet under the desk for less than a week and is purging the negativity. I guess you never know fully the extent of the toxicity from the outside looking in but it was obviously enough to pull the trigger.
As for the Fainu bro's 4 yrs boys you've been untethered from Fulton time to walk your own paths like men.
 
Good decision. We need a cleanout. Hoping Nofa is next. We need Benji to have the environment to succeed and from what I've heard Fulton is at odds with him and always disagreeing. Who will be our new recruitment manager?
 
Signing AFB on a million which is what Fulton wanted when forwards regress in their 30s already with Klemmer at the club would be a disaster. Good on Richo for immediately pulling out of that offer. He knows success and what it takes, and being ruthless is part of it. I look forward to some of our fans watching AFB play excellent at Sharks with a great team and 'regretting' that we didn't sign him on a million. As Richo said, he doesn't even think Haas is worth 1.2 million, "he is a worker, but not a difference maker". How much more AFB?
 
Apparently there is an article in the terrorgraph on Fulton sacking with Fulton reaction…. Unless it’s just sensationalism, I can’t read it myself…

Betsey is obviously only interim at the minute but it gives you some insight into the emphasis on pathways and local juniors. Richo is pretty big on that as well and Marshall will benefit from Richo's experience. no one there is going to be bowing to pressure from player managers, unlike the previous admin.

I also think Richardson is going to become Director of Football when his six month tenure as CEO wraps up. given he's this entrenched in the day-to-day football operation I'd say it's near certain.

I would say there's almost zero chance of that, and rightfully so.

Richo is a CEO. An excellent one. And he's the CEO the club so desperately needs. He may be focusing on the football department in the short term as this is the public front of the organisation, but he still looks after the whole business.

Richo will hire an excellent head of football. This will allow Betsey to focus on juniors, New Football head to look after footy with benji, and Richo oversees everything.

The article I read also mentioned “other staff changes” as well. I note that Richo did say something about changes in the media as well in his original presser.

I wonder if media will reach out to the former chairman for comment? That should be entertaining.

Hopefully someone who is successful in their own career inside and outside the NRL bubble and can sell a vision to the young guys on how to come out of their journey not having wasted their opportunity. Politis is a de facto recruitment manager.

I'm not so sure mate. in the way he sets up clubs the CEO is far removed from the football department. he's said it himself a few times that he would much rather focus on football-related matters as opposed to the admin. I think he'll set everything up for a CEO to take care of things on one side of the club and then move into the DoF role.

no doubt Betsey goes back to juniors but I'm almost certain that Richo will be DoF come August with a new CEO to come in.

just the new regime cleaning out remnants of the old.
happens at a corporate level all the time. Happened to me a couple of times over the years. It is what it is. Benji et al will sink or swim but he’ll do it with the people he wants around him. No excuses.
