Season 2024 - Round 2 Team

Any updates on how Alaimalo is progressing.. has he trained at both the centres and wing ? Is he a chance for first grade selection early or destined for cup ?
I’ve asked that same question myself, no replies as yet.
If he recovers his best form I think we will all be pleasantly surprised.

he looks like he could explode, but he does need time to transition. the main thing is that he has had a preseason, it took Reilly forever to come good because of that.

I feel like he'll probably get a look in mid-season and will lock down the left wing spot from there with Tupou obviously leaving. for now though I think our backline is set.

Thanks for the update @The-moP . I also love the defence of Fainu. He has a great tackling technique, both front on and in cover.

Any report on Sam Fainu? He was pictured with ice on his ankle at training yesterday.
Just rolled his ankle during some defence drills .. looked like nothing serous .. but its hard to judge these days so many soft tissue issues like syndesmosis .. here's hoping that its not .. as the ankle may experience it more frequently forced external rotations and dorsiflexion of the foot .. which results in injuries to the bones and ligaments of the ankle that are more commonly known as an ankle syndesmosis injury. He walked off the field with just an ice pack wrapped around his ankle and was later seen walking out unassisted after he showered. Guess we'll wait and see how he pulls up for the next training session.

Geez it sounds like we have some early injury concerns.
Samuela Fainu joining Jayden Sullivan, Justin Olam and John Bateman.

To me it shows how serious we are taking pre season training. Go hard or go home. Aim up and play hard.

It’s not uncommon at all to have niggles at this stage. As long as it isn’t major thats the main thing.

It’s the fact he was talking about a player swap. Olam/Blore was an official swap. Brooks/Fainu wasn’t.

Next minute, Brooks plays his greatest game ever in Las Vegas and becomes the face of NRL in America and Vlandys declares him the next immortal. Weirder things could happen...
I’m not sure he’ll even be visible in Vegas , everything is super sized.

I dont know he might fit right in...

Tour Guide: "On the left Luxor Casino and the famous pretend Sphyinx , and coming up next the replica Eiffel Tower and to your right here for the week folks; Luke Brooks .. he's been imitating a professional footballer for over 10 years." [Cameras Click and Flash]

It’s so crazy.
I’m still sceptical and think he must be a lemon in some capacity.
You don’t give away hot young talent for a proven dud.
It's looking like they did, and Parramatta cut Galvin. Seems the Tigers are not the only ones that can get it so wrong lol.

You make it sound like Manly initiated Fainu's departure when it was Fainu who wanted to leave. Sometime when a player wants to leave you have no choice. We know that more than any club.

I've known about Fainu for about 4 years. He is as good a prospect as you can get. Doesn't mean he will translate that the NRL, but I think he will.
