Shane Shackleton

More bang for the bucks and longevity… Shackleton would be alot cheaper and is alot younger. Sounds like a fair trade for someone who "is just an honest first grader and never will be a champion"...

Maybe the Club is starting wise up to 'Performance Based' Salaries as an alternative to 'Loyalty Driven' Emotion?!

Some posts must come from peoples back shutes.
Shackleton is actually older than Gibbs and as far as longevity and injury goes he played 5 years at the roosters and averaged 13 games a season. Of course we know he missed the entire 2010 season as well. Gibbs is gone no need to make up garbage to bag a clubman further.

Bahahaha

Classic!

Yeh, loyalty driven emotion disguised as premiership winning bonuses?

No thanks, 28 years old and injury prone.

When he's on the field, he can offer genuine impact but the risk far outweighs the benefits.

We don't need him honestly we have heaps of talent coming through at the moment . Lets stick with the youth It will pay off eventually

If Parra want to release him, it means they'll have to pay a chunk of his contract. Would it really be a risk if he was being paid under our cap the same as Junior Moors or Alan Schirnack?

I think it still would be Danos. Should we sign Blair, with what valuable cap space we have left the next serious signing should be a reputable outside back. He's a good forward when he plays, he's hardly reliable though and anything that isn't reliable should be looked over at this point, given our shocking run with injuries. I'd take a no frills player who can consistently play 20 games a year over Shackleton.

the next signing should be a quality fullback…..shacks has been in the system for years .. we even offered him a contract as a junior along with 3 other clubs, but he took the most professional at the time ....for mine he is too similar to what the club is cleaning out ....
