I see Shannan Gallant is playing for Newtown Jets in trial today!
Hadn't heard about him for awhile.
Where did he go after his stint at Cowboys and before Jets?
 
Qld Cup I'm pretty sure for part of it

Can't remember which side though

Either Mackay or Northern Pride I thought Unless that was who he played for when not in the Cowboys side
 
Must be back living in Campbelltown area, seen him at one of my boys footy games and he was watching his son play. Really nice fella.

Should have played a lot more first grade at the Wests Tigers after Hodgo left. Wasn't part of the Sheens click though. Was then shown the door to make way for Lote. Played for Narellan last season. Think he is with Newtown this year.
 
He wanted to be a police officer if he failed in league but good to see him keep at his dream of playing in the NRL I always liked him at FB, I think he still does live in the Campbelltown area as I've seen him a few times in MacArthur square with his family

I'm not sure how many of you realise the gap between a very good player and a Superstar is, back in 2009 the Tigers and Parramatta were going neck and neck for a Semi Final spot, one fateful night at the SFS saw a number of career ending circumstances.
As a through and through Tigers man I will maintain to this day that that fateful night we were given the short end of a Pineapple, during the course of the game we lost TNT with a terrible terrible injury, the opposition were gifted a 8 point try from Bryce Gibbs doing his best to prevent a try.
Jarryd Hayne on the same night was seemingly untouchable, not only by the Tigers players but by the ref, John Morris playing on the wing in an unfamilar position was denied a fair try IMO.
Thus set in chain a series of events that saw Hayne elevated to superstar status as a result of Parramatta's run to the Grand Final while potential Superstars in Wade McKinnon & Mighty Mouse were relegated to the backburner as the Tigers Premiership hopes were prematurely extinguinshed that August evening.

McKinnon joined the club in 2010.

I was there that night. TNT went down right in front of me. The Para crowd cheered. When they subsided I stood on my chair that was on the edge of their fan section and gave it to them for being a bunch of dogs cheering when a great player gets hurt.

Not one of them replied to my correction of their behaviour, they all heard. It made me hate Parra that little bit more. Dogs.

I may be wrong with when McKinnon joined the club but the REST is factual, don't let the truth get in the way of a good story but I'll stand by what I wrote!.

Sorry mate cant agree. SG was a borderline reserve grader. Fortunate to play as many first grade games as he did. Cant question his heart and committment. Gave his all every time he pulled the jersey on. His best simply wasnt good enough.

Watch the "MAGICIAN HAYNES" Chip and chase try he scored which has gone down in folklore and cemented his legacy.

Watch the wicked bounce, that poor Moltzen cops as he bravely charges onto the ball (this was before Moltzen developed the heartlidge in later years). It goes at a complete right angle, and Hayne goes off to cement his place in History.

I agree with you Leroy, that Game was an incredibly strange one for many reasons.
