Did North Queensland Cowboys just snare him by upping the ante due to Matty Bowen's operation?? :brick:

noooooooooooooo, in his interwiew on wts website i thought it funny that he wouldnt commit 2 signin next year so unlike shannon , just said tigers have offered him a contract n he will c what happens , sheens should never have let this happen :deadhorse:

I think he didn't commit because he may have got another offer. If Cowboys offered him the same amount of cash then he will probably go to Townsville since Bowen has a bad injury. I think he will have more of a chance to play firstgrade with North Queensland. Also I think Sheens wants Moltzen to play fullback next year. I have a feeling Tim Sheens will murder Tim Moltzens career before it has really begun by playing him at fullback. I'm a patient person but Sheens is giving me the shits. Anyway I hope Gallant does what is best for himself and his family. I'll be happy for him.

If they did then he must have done the dirty on the club because last week he had agreed to a contract verbally with the club, and after letting some other players go to make room, they wouldn't let him go as well

I am pretty sure it would have been the club that did the dirty on him. The club probably didnt even offer him top 25 cause they too busy chasing Lote. Tigers already bought well look at Geoff Daniella, Mitch Brown, and the list of 2nd class reserve graders goes on  What a joke recruitment has been. Good buying mr recruitment. Good luck too him, i hope he comes back and smashs us playing for North Queensland so recruitment at this club will wake up to itself.

Disappointing if true. The little fella had always played with plenty of heart and looked good in the backend of the season before breaking his leg.

Dissapointing if true but i can understand the reasoning behind it all. Fullback is not a position the club is short on, Like macca and his mid season move to the Knights. It may well be in his best interests.

who are the other specialist fullbacks that we have?

- Moltzen, a halfback?
- Lazarus, hasn't played a game in how long?
- Mullaney, an absolute gun but is very inexperienced

ahhh yes, our fullback stocks are high

that being said, if we sign Tuqiri then i'll be happy

It does not matter what what we think though. Fact is the club would have us believe we are well off in this position. Sheens clearly is no fan of the specialist fullback hence why Gallant continues to draw the short straw. Its in his best interests.

Disapointed the club offered crap money.

GL at NQL mighty mouse you could well be the next Bowen.

Way to go Tigers looking after a loyal junior like this.

Daniella and Brown better bloody well perform or else …... nothing will change anyway

Deserves to be on a fulltime contract and part of a NRL top 25 squad. To be offered match payments only by the Wests Tigers is a insult to such a talented player.

I can't see him getting being NQ's first choice (he should be first choice here) as Bowen still has plenty of footy in him. But good luck to him if it's true.

Good luck to him if he is going elsewhere, but i'd really like to see Mullany get a crack at 1st grade… great young player & goal kicker too...
our next hodgo...

Yeah- Mullaney looks good.

But I wonder now….Gallant moving on, the Tigers clearing space on the books, Tuquiri linked despite looking at French Rugby....

I'm going out on a limb here & saying that I think the Tigers might have Tuquiri at #1 next year.

That being said, that's a huge upgrade at fullback.

Bowen has done his knee. It's the same injury he did to his other knee and it may require the same, major, radical reconstructive surgery that sidelined him for so long.

If he does need the surgery as expected he's no guarantee of being fit again until at least the middle of next year and there's some risk that this injury could end his career.

What a shame but I cant blame the kid. He was very good at the backend and should of been our FB all year.
Not all fullbacks are ball players (which Sheens has likes ever since he coached Gary Belcher @ raiders). Gallants best assets are is support play and his heart.
A big loss to the team if true.
Molzten is not a FB and the team feels disjointed with him at FB. HB is a better option for him.
If with pinning our faith our Blake Lazarus, then god help us.

I have a feeling Arana will get a shot at fullback.

When Gallant broke his leg I posted "No Gallant, No hope" in making the semis.

In 2010 we will not make the semi's without Gallant. He is an absolute gun and having him long term in the side plus an off season training in the No.1 spot would have made him even better. All this crap about ball playing fullbacks, whats the point ? This bloke is a strike player and hits the ball at speed. Why set up someone else when you can score yourself??

He will be a sensation at NQ and the will call him the **White Bowen** .

Very sad when you consider Gallant was the form fullback in the trials and Moltzens kick returns are the softest in the NRL.

Can't think of anyone worse?
