People on this forum always say they hear a rumour or that they heard the word on the street or that they know someone who knows someone.etc. Most of the time they get it completely wrong.

Last Saturday, at the Western Suburbs game, I actually asked Shannon Gallant if Wests Tigers offered him a contract. He said they did but he had not decided yet if he will accept it. He said he will decide within the next two weeks…

The praise for Gallant in this thread is so exaggerated. It's absurd. He's a good little player, but hardly a superstar. That's why he's still unsigned.

Fact is Boyd, Hunt, Slater, McKinnon, Hayne, Stewart, Bowen, Gidley, Dugan, Patten and probably Coote are all better fullbacks than him. The only fullbacks I'd be inclined to take him over are Perrett, Zillman, Merritt (though he's a good winger) and whoever is playing fullback for the Sharks.

He's good and he's certainly off first grade standard. Just keep in mind that there is a lot of outstanding fullbacks before you go crazy.

With the exceptions of Ellis, Galloway, Farah, Marshall and Lawrence every player is replaceable.
