Shawn Blore #235

Didn't stand out today but got through unscathed. He'll be a work in progress as he regains match fitness. May find himself starting next week as Rogers-Smith looked to be seriously injured.

Tuilagi looks to be a handful . Good defensively as well. Both will be in firsts sooner rather than later .

I haven’t seen enough from Blore to get carried away with him. Yes, he can put on a hit but I do not recall a single line break.

Hope he proves me wrong as we badly need something

Blore itching to get back and ‘just drill someone’

After suffering a broken wrist in a pre-season incident, ruling him out for the start of the Wests Tigers season, Shawn Blore tells WestsLife he’s excited to get back on the field and put a big hit on.

Blore was originally told he could miss up to the first 10 rounds of the season, but rehab has gone so well he’s looking at returning much earlier and he’s not going to just ease back into the game either.

“I’m pushing for round seven possibly,” said on the WestsLife podcast.

“I told everyone my first involvement back will be just drilling someone.

“It’s just been so long and it gets to the point where it’s frustrating You just want to do something. I’m just hoping the first involvement is a good one. If we’re on attack, get in early and tuck the ball under my arm and just run.”

Other than putting on big hits on opposition players, Blore is also keen to start forming combinations with teammates including fellow Panthers junior, Daine Laurie.

“We had such a great preseason and I was building such good combos with a few boys on the edge,” Blore said.

“I’m just so excited to get back into training and do some of that stuff on the field. It’s gonna take a while.

“The focus is just to get back foremost and just start drilling some people.”

Thanks fpr posting Madge. Possible round 7, good news.

I love his attitude, of wanting to get back in and smash someone.

Hope he smashes Brooks

Early indication were that Blore would be back around now

Hows he tracking??

Would be great to see him named in first grade for this week!

don't see Madge making changes to a winning side, but he won't be far off. will most likely make his way back into first grade via the bench, considering how Garner has been playing to start the year.

his stats v Dragons in KOE Cup were as follows (via NBWT)

53 Mins
11 Runs for 120 Metres
58 Post Contact Metres
19 Tackles (2 missed)

I’d say give him 1 more hit out in reserves then bring him back....not sure who you replace him with though. Maybe Seyfarth

Watching the game, Blore will be ready in a week or so, just needed that match fitness, going to be so good when he is right. By the way Liddle is way to good for KOC, is unsigned for next year and I can see him killing it at the right club. Hope he gets a go on the bench in firsts, his ball delivery is way better than young Jake.

I'd like to see Liddle on the bench this week, even if we have both hookers on the field at the same time, for short periods.

Agreed, Jake would be fine at lock if needed.

I’ve always thought Blore would be good in the middle

the club sees him as an edge forward though

54 mins is surely longer then any of our NRL games he played last year?

I know KOE isnt as fast but a good start

Wish granted.
He is on this week.

I thought he was a bit hard done when he was dropped. I would have hooked a couple others before him.

But good to see Him perform and earn a spot back.

I just want to replace Tamou. Upright running plodder with no aggression

I have never held high regard for Tamou but I’m warming up to him.
Watch the reply again from Sunday’s game if you can, together with AD he was another player out on his feet but he still running across to cover.
He was trying it lead as a captain, I respect that.

It must be wearing off on to players.
Joffa and Luc are the others who want to compete to the end.

He's improved a lot in terms of cover defence and inside presure, it makes the job of our edge defenders a lot easier.

However, still doesn't hit the line with any impact, always surrenders in tackles for a quick PTB which is a good tactic in the opposition half but needs to use the leg drive to pig it out from our own end.
