Seriously? Ayshford, Benji, Moltzen, Lui, Gibbs, Galloway, Fulton, Farah, Heighington, Collis, Lawrence, Fafita, Dwyer, Lazarus etc, etc, etc might disagree with you.

Sheens has been a master of bringing young players through the ranks. You can bag him for a number of things- but that statement was way off the mark.

I completely agree with you on this, though Lazarus should be taken off that list, and Galloway played first grade at the Sharks before he was signed by us. The rest, you're spot on.

There's a whole lot of gesticulating going on around here, but as far as I see it- this team was playing well at the beginning of the year, then Moltzen got hurt & the Tigers have looked about half as good since.

Pinning the blame on the loss of one player through injury is pretty ridiculous. That is simply not good enough, and can't be used as an excuse for our poor form.

Losing Moltzen has put a serious crimp in the Tigers style since his injury. The forwards are playing fine- for those of you trying to lay the blame of the Tigers success at their feet- they rarely are dominated by opposition packs. The way the Tigers play, the forwards are not DESIGNED to dominate themselves- they lay a platform, tackle their bums off, and let the backs do the sparkly razzle dazzle stuff. Gibbs, Payton, Fulton, Galloway, Ellis, Heighington etc do a fine job of it.

Sorry but I completely disagree. Individually I think most of our forwards are fine players, but its clear we are coached to play a certain style and that style does not work consistently. The problem is that Sheens is too stubborn to change it.

IMO we are coached to run straight into the markers, to stand and receive the ball flat from dummy half (with no wind up or depth in any of the runs). Why do our forwards stand so shallow (about two metres back from Robbie at dummy half) and get the ball with no run up, basically stand still, receive ball, get hit often almost as soon as the ball is received. This is like watching under 6's when they stand there and basically hand the ball to the player left or right like pass the parcel. There is no depth, no aggression, no structure, no wind up - we are so flat at times its embarrassing.

IMO we are coached to play this way because Sheens thinks that makes it easier to land on top of a defender and get a quick play ball the ball. This tactic may have worked for 13 weeks in 2005, but it has failed miserably since. Much like the John Morris @ 7, Marshall @ 7, Galea/Payne @ prop experiments, and many of the other strange selection decisions that Sheens has persisted with over the years. Many of these he often persists with, drops, and then tries it again a year or two layer. These things continually do not work yet they are still persisted with year after year. That is what is so frustrating.

Lui hasn't played up to the level required for him to be a success at halfback- and Benji, as everybody knows, needs that foil to really excel. Without it, Benji is asked to do too much organising- not his strength. As a result, Farah is then required to spend a large portion of his game filling that role- which limits his effectiveness as a dummy half option- teams zone in on Farah at the play of the ball, giving him fewer options, knowing that the attack stems from him or Benji.

Lui was Sheens' first choice halfback - keeping in mind that Moltzen only moved from fullback to halfback because Lui was injured.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is EXACTLY how you criticize CONSTRUCTIVELY! Even though I am a Sheens supporter I thoroughly enjoyed this post HT.

why can no one seem to spell fifita correctly….

You think thats bad? It astounds me how many people spell Fui Fui Moi Moi wrong! That's not a shot at anyone in here either… It's two three letter names repeated once each!

At least the incorrect spelling is still sounded out correctly when pronounced, unlike Halatua…which was totally different to how his name was said

If you think that this team would not be better with a natural half back then you do not have a clue about football.

Well, at least it's clarified- I know nothing about football.

That's fast becoming this forum's version of comparing your opponent to Hitler!!

[No offence Magpiecol I'm not picking on you!!!]
