This is the cauldron-like atmosphere Wests Tigers rookie Sean Meaney is about to be thrown into tomorrow night as the Concord-based club attempt to seal a top two NRL finish.
Tigers coach Tim Sheens has had his hand forced by a cruel injury toll, with fullback Wade McKinnon and centre Chris Lawerence both injured during last weekend's victory over the Storm.
Fast running out of options, Sheens today named rookie fullback Meaney - who has played just three minutes of NRL against the Bulldogs earlier this year - as the man most likely to fill the custodian role against the Titans.
One guarantee, Gold Coast skipper Scott Prince will be raining torpedo bombs his way should Meaney get the call-up.
“Sean Meaney may be looked at at full-back and I may keep Mitch Brown in the centres “ Sheens said.
“Sean is a specialist full-back who represented NSW Residents this year and played well. He has played very well in the Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers side that has done well. I’m looking at maybe giving him a start.”
Meaney trained with the Tigers during their final run at Concord Oval yesterday.
