Shopping Nightmares

Not sure if this has been a topic before but just wanted to share a shopping nightmare I am experiencing with Sony.
Purchased a new tv through their online store - took 8 days and went through 4 couriers via mistakenly being sent to the Port Macquarie depot to get from Sydney to Nambucca Heads. A lot of stores do overnight delieries these days - Appliances Online are 1 example of great service.
When the tv arrived, the carton was wet down one end and along the bottom of the box. It had obviously been left out in the rain. When I said this to the courier, he said he hadn't noticed that. I got him to take a photo and requested he report the damge. Fool that I was, I received the package - I should have told him to return it .
I raised a complaint with Sony and sent them all the photographic and other information they want. Been waiting a week for answer, emailed requesting an update 4 times, chatted with their online support staff to be told I was prioritised and still not a scrap of response.
Needless to say I don't recommend you buy through their online store.

Sony are generally good to deal with.

There'd be warranty + you're protected by Australian consumer laws.

Keep following up and don't stop until you get the response you want.

Personally I'd just call it a day.
Tell them you're not satisfied.
Request a full refund and go buy from Jb Hi Fi.

Sony are the best TVs from my experience.
However Hisense & TCL are quite good these days also.

I had what looked like a cloud across the top of the tv. When I was watching the Ashes cricket I was thinking it’s just England. But the Dragon-in-law came over for morning tea and said what wrong with the tv.
So Good Guys PMQ flicked me to Toshiba and I thought here we go, but Toshiba were great asked for photos, then rang back and when through the different screen settings with me taking pics for them, and next minute (2-3weeks), ol’mate from SWRocks appliances or whatever, was here with a new tv. He did check again the old one, ((11 months of 12 in to warranty), was damaged, but he was telling me they rarely fix tvs they just replace them.
Sorry I know my good story is not helping right now, but keep at them, they may just replace it is what I’ve heard.
It’s painful getting stuff rurally sometimes hey.

Said in my claim happy with either a replacement or refund.
I have bought Sony all my life - walkmans, action cameras and tvs. Only reason I replaced tvs is I wanted flat screen rather than CRt (20 yearsold and perfect). The flat screen I have is perfect still at 15 years old but the apps have gradually disappeared/ become unusable (Youtube/ SBS on Demand etc).
Their call centre are like a diaphraghm, trapping any action from happening. Apologies and we've prioritised it every time but nothing happens. It's a clear cut case unless the couriers are bullshitting and denying responsibility.

Think the 4K LG and Samsung TVs seem to be dominating the market now, previous was a Samsung it was good, but the LG Oled Evo and dolby atmos soundbar I have now is a beauty I have tweaked the settings to my preference and love it, the best TV I've ever had.

Bit of a mad scientist perfectionist when it comes to settings getting the best I can out of it, when the 8K TVs come down in price in the future will have a crack at one of them.

That CRT would still be worth a pretty penny. Lots of gaming enthusiasts play games on it.
