SHOULD THE TIGERS RE SIGN MOLTZEN ?

Only if we pay him by the metre.

I'd love for him to turn it on tonight and prove us all wrong, but its not like the bloke hasnt had enough chances. Its time for him to remind us what he can do. I'm interested to see how this whole no7 and no.9 dynamic plays out this week with so much uncertainty in both positions.

No, we kept him to keep benji happy and to let miller mature, the team doesn't seem
To be cohesive, moltzen just, lost faith, he ran a good line in dying minutes of tonight's game to score, but if I had to decide now, definitely no

I don't think the backs are the major issue at this stage, it's the forwards. All, besides Ellis and maybe Woods, aren't doing anything.

In saying that, I think Moltz's best position is either fullback or at 14 or at left right out, haven't really decided.

Definitely yes. Based on that performance last night we have 2 outside backs that have speed and the ability to be offensive weapons and they are Lawrence and Moltzen.

Ryan is a great player who tries hard but he lacks blinding speed.

As for the others ????

No unfortunately Tim has not lived up to his potential. Sheens has to shoulder the blame for that, like he has to shoulder the blame for other talented players he has failed to develop. I am sure that Craig Bellamey, Des Hasler ot Wayne Bennett would have developed Moltzen into a top class player.
He is playing with no confidence and I think it is going to take a long time for him to start believing in himself again.
He needs to move on.

I don't think it matters whether we should or shouldn't.

You can almost guarantee after the Souths drubbing he will be inking a three year extension

I read in rlw few months ago he said he is on talks with us to re sign with us and said he wants to stay for life why not he will be cheap and could be a superstar.

I read once he said he was looking forward to playing for the dragons.

slightly off topic, but I just went back and looked at Half & Five Eighth combinations that were world class and playing at the same club… I had to go back as far as 1994 to find 6\. L Daley & 7\. R Stuart.

Bloody Salary Cap!

TW it isnt just the salary cap ,its the system they grow up in .
they start on a small field ,they hardly have a scrum , the hooker has to pass the ball or its a turnover if he gets caught , the halfback is in the same boat , first reciever. kids dont have a clue what a lock forward is .the interchange has killed off the cheeky little kid who grew into his number 7 jersey because the forwards never get tired.
It will one day do the full circle, but thats why real halfback are a rare breed , and your right about the farah and benji show in all aspects .should we re sign moltzen . no way , but will we . yes we will for sure and certain .
i wish i was so certain niagara will win the big race tommorow , i hope so ,big money will be landed , 70-1 in early markets .

C'mon Ink where's your source on that vicious rumour ….....

My guess he has already signed. Nobody would walk away from a fat contract without having another one to take its place. To many risks to walk away from the Dragons and hope you will score another contract, he must have some verbal agreement with the tigers, other wise he is out and out mad

After what happened to Gibbs with a legitimate contract, as if a verbal agreement would mean anything

Tauber is his manager. Tauber is "like a father" to Benji. No one at the club is going to use dirty tricks that would alienate those two.

Tauber's reputation was shattered whilst getting Tim "out" of his Saints deal. He left three years of big $$$ on the table….................

Moltz has had one knee reconstruction already. Two and your values halves instantly. Managers know this. Players know this.

NO WAY does Tauber allow Moltzen to be in this position unless he already has a deal with the Tigers.

I don't think they should re sign him he has done nothing at half back and nothing at full back, I hope miller is half back next year and teddy is fullback and moltzen will just be a back up for 1 of those positions and a bench player they should have let him go to the dragons

Let him go, there is no consistency there at all. While he can be brilliant the money that they will need to fork out to keep him IMO can be better spent on local talent. We have some good young Fullbacks coming through and should be looking at either developing some of our junior halves or chasing a quality 7\. Maybe Anasta can slot into 7 for the interem.
