YES, if there is only one team, it has to be the Wests Tigers…
Balmain & Wests should still field teams in my opinion, but if this is the way the Wests Tigers decide to go, I feel it should be called Wests Tigers...

There should only be one state cup team and it should be Wests Tigers. Time to look forward.

Yes, it seems like a major inconsistency to have the state cup sides unparalleled the NRL sides. The only advantage is the ability to retain the character of the merged entities. But we all know that will remain in history, and most of us will also carry those allegiances. So I don't see creating a merger at the NSW cup also as a bad thing!
I also would love to again watch guys in the state cup before the NRL each match. Guys that may be a part of this year maybe be blokes like Tui, Brown, Daniella, Woods, Cayless, Flannagan, McKinnon, Moors.
Honestly, I love watching the NYC side. But I would more so love to watch our fringe players, and those bloke returning from injury, more.

I agree flash. Why risk a player doing his knee and being out for the season in a Wests vs Balmain game?
We can be stronger with one team in State Cup. Why fund 40 odd players, where maybe 20 are quality or potential quality, just so the foundation clubs can keep their identity. We all come from the same background and we have all learned to appreciate and respect the opposite side, but it is about the badge on your left breast when you run onto the field that matters.
We need to move forward as one - but never forget where we came from. There is strength in stability and stability in strength!

Happy with the idea of a singular WT State Cup side.
I would also happily follow a Balmain team in Bundy Red Cup if that were n option to keep names alive

Grand-finalists in 2009 and one-game away from the GF in 2010 - meanwhile Wests got A. Fifita, Daniela, Corby, Fitzy, Moors last year and still finished behind us!!!
I'm not going to bag the Magpies though - they too have had a very competitive side for the past two seasons - and if we are to have two NSW Cup teams I believe the fringe-top graders should be distributed equitably!!
I am however prepared to support a rationalised single-entity for WT in NSW Cup!

They farm out their State Cup to a local side.
But they also have the advantage of having a very strong local league made up of many ex NRL players who have taken well paying jobs in the mining sector on the condition they play for their magnates side
