Should/Will RF get his Leichhardt farewell given we are out of contention?

I get the feeling that a few people who were sitting on the fence when it came to the Farah saga are now jumping off onto the clubs side of the fence

People get sick of the drawn out process.
The club told him to look for another club for a long time but he decides to fight it out.
He only has himself to blame.

No the problem is they never stuck to their word. JT comes out last year and says your not wanted. Pascoe comes in and says yes he is. He plays first grade up to round 18 i think. Then he gets dropped. If the club supported Jt from the get go, and Farah wasnt selected to play at the start of the year then he would have had all year. We won the last 2 games he played in. Then the club comes out with all this BS about why he was dropped. Farah has stuffed up by not keeping his mouth shut, but your kidding yourself if you think the club has handled this well. Its been a debacle.

You have proven my point. Jt never wanted farah from day one. He was overridden by the people in the board room and just done what he was told and got on with coaching. Never complained.

JT is the coach and gets to choose the squad and will fall on his sword if we fail.
Your grudge is with the board, not the coach.

But thats what i said, the club has handled this very badly. To me it even looks like they have thrown JT under a bus, and if fhey move him on, will use it as one of the reasons.

No - try **reading**.

So what you have written is s***.

Actually, no it isn't a s*** assumption. You know why? Because that is the status quo - that type of conversation happens at every club with a player every year. It really isn't a big deal, most players in that situation just get on with it and move along. In fact Farah is the first player I am aware of that has refused (or can't) leave.

So you have no idea what actually transpired at that meeting?

Come on guys, when someone says they assume, it means they believe or think. You know that. The poster isn't stating it as a definite fact. You're twisting things around.

Just like Sheens it seems to be ending on very nasty terms.

Whatever people think of Farah we don't have a great track record of seeing off some of the guys that were important to the club for a long time.

They all have egos, that much is clear.

Its sad really for the fans.

its a symptom of an overall lack of success on the field at the WTs , they're not bad people despite what some people say/believe .

its the same scenario for the NSW origin team , not many fond farewells happen there either . Qld seem to have a happy retirement every year .

When Robbie finally finishes with the Club, at his farewell dinner they should have a video "This is your life" showing all up the ups and downs, twists and turns etc of the past few years with the Club. Then, them all being on the grog they can go through all the same pantomimes we go through here. They may need referees not moderators.

Farah may have a strong case, but is it worth the pain. Why not just pack your bags and leave with **dignity**. He is not the first player to be told their not wanted, and he has a big fat contract so he will not be going to the soup kitchen.

Do you think he even knows what that means?

He hasn't left the club yet so why a farewell. I like him as a player, i can't comment on what he is like as a person, so i make no personal remark.

But don't you have to be leaving to get a farewell?

Also i should say that I'm not for or against JT, can't comment on him as a person neither, but he is in charge of our team so he should make the calls. Right or Wrong. (I do reserve the right to criticise and praise him - its my right as a fan)

My personal opinion is that RF is one of our top 17 and should be in the side.

However, if he was leaving then i would have liked for him to get his farewell! I have cheered for him over the years and while we had some lean years, we did have some good years and he along with the rest of the team have given us one hell of ride!

I am in my late 40's and have supported the tigers since i was 6 and not living far from Leichhardt didn't miss many games, over those years we have had some great players in our sides but never won a GF! RF and his team mates gave us that in 2005 and some will say it was a long time ago but, that is the only GF we have won so lets give him some respect.

If and when JT does that for us i would say the same about him (But i still reserve the right to criticise)

Either way I'm at Leichhardt on Sunday! Go the Tigers!!!

Can't see RF getting his farewell. He hasn't played a role in our turn around over the last 6 weeks or so and since SOO he has been out of the side more than in.

It would be silly to run him around in our final game at LO when the side has moved on to the future. I disagreed with his axing but the side has performed…..so its difficult to do an about face and give him a farewell when realistically we are playing for a Top 8 spot.

I wish RF all the best for the future.....I hope he gets to play on at NRL level for a couple of more years....he has been a legend at the club but his time here is over. Maybe Super League is also an option for him....but thats his call.

The only criticism I have with RF is that he has not made the situation easy either....his digging the heals in have mean't we have had to lose young players to accommodate him...cherrington, JAC, TM Martin have all had to make way with the uncertainly surrounding RF IMO.

IMO Clubs have the right to move players on......as long as the amount of the contract amount is met between the two parties.......no player is bigger than the club and IMO RF stubbourness has caused nothing more than problems for a club he supposedly loves.

Well he played a big role in our comeback from 12 nol down against Penrith ironically his last top level game with the club.

He'll be injured or sick next week….I wonder if Joel Caine has a market

You seem to know him on a personal level, why dont you ask him and let us know.

No need to ask Farah…

Just go to the Clubs website... http://www.weststigers.com.au/news/2016/08/28/late_changes_intrust.af_news.html

Robbie Farah ruled out of today's game by Club medical staff with a hip flexor injury.

Good post. Hard to argue with any of it…

Taylor obviously has his reasons for Farah not being there, whether it is for the reasons provided or there is more to it really is irrelevant as he is the boss. But no doubt he is in our best 17 players...

Farah was a very important part of our 2005 team, for some of us it may be the only premiership we see in our lifetimes... Though i really hope not... Think the Bears didnt win again after 1922, then you look at the Sharks winless since 1967... Can be a long time between drinks as former Tigers and Magpies supporters know well, so definitely credit where credit is due...

Good post. As you have said we shouldn't look backwards so he shouldn't play again in firsts but I think the club should farewell him to acknowledge his contributions.
