Some fans have an extremely unrealistic view of how much their members dollars entitles them to.

Mostly, each club is funded by the NRL, via media, via advertising dollars. So really, the big companies fund each team. Not members. We pay a pittance compared to corporate sponsorship.

"Here are your special reserved seats, here is a bog-average supporters cap, a sticker and a keyring. The club will send you tailor-made emails and invite you to some special events. You get an early grab at SOO and Finals tickets. Some clubs even give you free cross-entry to their games. Not bad for $100 really."

"Are you serious? I want to see your books, your business plan, the salary cap details, sick leave entitlements, player contracts, shoe sizes, access to your gym equipment, internal audits, superannuation details and injury management rationales. I want it all, goddammit, I want your souls!!!"

All I want from our Board and senior management is competent administration. How they achieve it is up to them. The CEO for one wouldn't be getting peanuts to do his job. That said, it would be good if said managers could give members some idea of the magnitude of our alleged fiscal sink hole and its implications for marquee recruitment etc. Marina Go tried to do this earlier in the year but a statement from Pascoe or the Board as to our present situation might allay a lot of concerns
