Signing Kirisome Auva'a

Seeming that the Wests Tigers are targeting centres in 2016, Kirisome Auva'a would be a terrific purchase for the club. He was pivotal towards the back-end of the premiers season last year (Rabbitohs), and contributed for the full 80 minutes of their grand final win against the Bulldogs; whereby he scored the decisive and essentially match-winning try. He is a hard running, quick player with a great deal of strength to surpass defenders - covering all the delusional attributes of a centre. However, at the end of last season, Kirisome assaulted his wife and faced a minimal jail sentence. Upon recent inquiry by Auva'a to the NRL about his hampered contract, terms were agreed that he may be eligible to play in August, if not definitely by next season - whereby he is off-contract. It almost seems certain that the Rabbitohs will release Auva'a from his contract for obvious disciplinary reasons and the fact that they have purchased numerous centres for this, and upcoming seasons. Therefore, making a switch to the Tigers perfect if we want to go down that route. A deal from the tigers is definitely possible, as shown with our Matthew Lodge and James Gavet transactions whereby Potter offered them a 'last-ditch' contract to save their NRL career's. Additionally, not only would Auva'a be a massive signing for us, but we could snag him for cheap money - due to the contract situation. The quicker we pounce on this deal the more likely we are of signing him and making the top eight.

Agree? Disagree? Additional notes? Feel free to comment…

Didn't we punt Lui for doing the same thing. How would you feel robstar if we were to bring Lui back to the club?

Hello GNR4LIFE,

Robert Lui was under different disciplinary circumstances which led to his departure, he had assaulted his wife many-a-times - yet Cowboys were still able to sign him… Hopefully this is reciprocated with the Auva'a deal, but involving the Tigers as the beneficiaries.
As to your sarcastic question involving Lui's restoration to our club, I think Brooks and Moses are doing quite fine...

It wasn't sarcastic, it was genuine. You were endorsing the potential signing of a woman beater. I was interested to know your thoughts on another woman beater.

We aren't going to win a premiership if we are going to say no to every bad boy.

Do I like what he did? No.
Do I condone violence against women? Bloody hell I don't.
Do I want to win a premiership? Yes.

The only thing I am doubting is his ability to play after such a long time away from the game.

No issue with giving people a second chance.

Not sure Auva is good enough to put up with the negative publicity it would create though.

The club needs to weigh up past crime against future talent and decide if it is a worthwhile equation.

Auva is an unbalanced equation.

We need bad boys on the field. A guy with the personality of a Matai or a JWH. Guys that are idiots off the field don't do anything for us.

Nope..souldn't even play NRL….what Souff's did last year by playing him after pleading guilty is a disgrace...besides he isn't that good.....

Rather invest in Seve and Heleta...

When your first post ever is starting a thread like this, I can't help but think this is a troll (apologies if you are not).

As for signing Auva'a, a massive NO for me. I'd prefer to look at SKD or Mahe Fonua

Hello steve-o,

I am sorry you feel that way, however my post despite the negative ideology you may possess about it, is genuine and not a 'troll'.

As impacting a player as Auva'a may be, I hope the Tigers would steer clear of him for the reasons already mentioned above. There are better options within the club and outside of it.

Or James Roberts,he could be a real star if he isn't already, although SKD is still playing great at the roosters, was pretty good on friday night at right centre.

Rate James Roberts highly 851 . Would love him at the Tigers has speed and power , what we have been missing since Koro left. IMO

There is no way i would accept Auva'a signing.Anyone who is violent to women should not be on the roster of this or any club.

Don't rate Auva'a at all, it's easy to look good playing behind the pack/halves that Souths had last year. Heck they even make Reddy and Goodwin look good.
He's no better than Tim Sim, the sentimental side of me would prefer Lawrence, and I think we have better options coming through in Nofo/Kev Naq/Seve/Peni/Heleta.

Yep, I'd take Roberts too. I forgot he was off contract
