Signing news

Reading the original post I'd say it would have to be McQueen, it wouldn't be any of the burgess boys, and Taylor said he needs some one who can play back row, McQueen can cover that position and he is in good coin at the rabbits as he got upgraded deal when he played for Queensland in origin

Agree Westy81, McQueen is a very good player and works hard in attack and defence..geez he would be a great acquisition to our team if it eventuates….

Hopefully a quality back rower, that' what we desperately need. Some grunt in attack and defence…

Is McQueen a likely starter at Souths.. Now that Teo has left?

They're getting Glenn Stewart so he's more likely to start. However, with burgess leaving bad well, McQueen is probably competing with Kyle turner for that edge spot.

The 600k would be for more than one season if anything… And then again this is all just another BS rumour made to pass time in the off season.

Burgess bros... lol not even a chance in our dreams!

McQueen would be one of the few Rabbitohs players that are still there from when Taylor was coaching them too.

Be a great signing for us. Really good.

We won't know if this is even true until after the 4 nations is over, but it's fun to try to guess, let's hope it is some one who will be a great addition to the team

McQueen just re-signed with them this year for another year, he was on virtually nothing before playing origin so would be demanding significantly more. 600k over 2 or 3 years (300k or 200k a year) seems a hell of a lot for him IMO. From memory he was on 160k a year. Whilst he is a good player, he isn't the defensive workhorse Fultz was, and has a lot of show pony in him which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
As I was saying before getting sidetracked was that he just re-signed, seems like a long shot for him to flip on that and leave a winning premiership side.

Could be Turner on 600k over 3 or 4 years?

McQueen is an Origin player. We don't sign Origin players. If true it will most probably be a fringe player like Ben Lowe.

This forward has heaps more potential than McQueen or Bronson Harrison. If Wests Tigers can afford him then he is the one.

Kyle Turner

Born 20 February 1992 (age 22)
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Height 190 cm (6 ft 3 in)
Weight 103 kg (16 st 3 lb)

Position
Second-row, Lock, Centre

He has played his entire professional career to date as a utility player for the Rabbitohs, with whom he won the 2014 NRL Premiership. Turner played his junior football for [This word has been automatically removed]abarabran Unicorns and also for the New South Wales Indigenous Under 16s team before being signed by the South Sydney Rabbitohs. On 1 March 2013, Turner re-signed with the Rabbitohs on a 2-year contract.[2]

Turner has had quite a few head knocks this year,he would be a big gamble.

Fair call….we have already been down that road with Fulton.
I dont mind Ben Lowe but not at the price that has been mentioned....maybe $200k per seasofor 2 or 3 years each

Ben Lowe would be a shocking pick up. Genuine lemon.

Much better than some of the other lemons we have picked over the years - Matt Bell, Sam Harris, Dane Laurie.

You dont need superstars, just good hard working experience players that can help our young guys out. Ben Lowe fits that. Agree there are better players out there but would not be the worst signing we have made.

Matt Bell and Daine Laurie played well for us mostly. Bell got old and was a squaddie and a serviceable one. Laurie had off field issues and started with us. Neither deserve to be mentioned as worst pickups when there are signings like Ryan O'Hara and Eddy Pettybourne to cite.
