Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Based on what exactly. His games for Wyong seemed average. He slips off plenty of tackles and goes into contact arse first (then drives backwards) - his 2 games for the chooks were touch & go. I genuinely don't understand the hype…Was it Cordner's referral before the semis? or his form @ Wyong that has some of you convinced that he's a walk in? Am I missing something?

Yeah, Nof could be the odd man I feel. You don't leave out your top try scorer from the previous season in Thompson (who can also fill in ably at fullback if Moses goes down,) and you wouldn't pass over Jennings for Nofoaluma.

Madge is coach though so what he does is anyone's guess.

He's played 2 NRL games… Not saying he's not better, but realistically the sample size isn't anywhere near big enough to make these sort of calls imo

This sounds like the NRL might be backing away or reducing the Salary Cap penalty.

I'm more concerned that it indicates we have salary cap room even if the fine is upheld. This would make the NRL's decision easier to uphold the fine imo. I don't think for a second they would allow us to buy him if we didn't have the room in the cap after the fine. Just how I see it anyway.

May take some time for Jennings to break into the side given his late start, but think he will be there for most of the season.

Thompson is all heart but very small. Struggles to make metres and a risk under the high ball

I remember against the Rabbitohs last yeat every run he made (apart from the interception) he got pushed back at least 5 meters.

Going off the souths forum, he's still been training with them for the preseason, so fitness shouldn't be an issue.

I don't get it either. I hope he is really good but I don't understand why he is so hyped up on here. He is a fringe first grader who may come good.

Based on a couple of things. Firstly the guys attitude. I like what he has had to say. Secondly the only opinion on this that matters to me is Trent Robinson, multiple premiership winning coach who has nothing but great things to say about the kid.

Ill take the guy with a higher ceiling each and every time.

I agree the sample size is small.

Please tell me how clubs recruit if all they are worried about is sample size?

Sometimes you have to go with the intangible.

For me and its only my opinion this guy is a better prospect than the two who we already know are good solid NRL players.
