Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Wasnt that before he got done for cheating and the subsequent fine put us back in the red? Yeah, we're in the glory days here.

@gallagher Ahahahahaha... God, there's no point with you. Over here complaining about Pascoe etc while you have a Mahe Fonua profile picture. Don't you see the problem here? Fonua's not even FG standard mate.

How quick this forum changes after a couple of losses. I clearly remember all the praise Madge got during the season and all the praise Pascoe got for his efforts last season. Some things go wrong and all of that is quickly forgotten. Fickle...

Where have i had a go at Maguire?
You'll have to go back a long way to find me praising Pascoe, I picked up on him way back.

A year or so ago, so many on here were fawning over the traitor's son joining us to become a beloved pair. The guy had as much, if not more freedom, salary cap and otherwise than I can recall anywhere, to get just what he wanted.

Hard to believe that things have gone downhill so quickly after the previous couple of coaches had to battle with both hands tied behind their backs. Yet despite the handicaps, they got similar results to the one with so much control.

I dont think Pascoe is a dud, he's done some good things, but his blind faith in Cleary along with the board are all not blameless in what madge is now trying to deal with. A rebuild of the rebuild, with our cap hampered over the Robbie situation looks like it will be further hampered by possibly paying dud's to play elsewhere.

Cleary really left us in a huge mess, what a parting gift. He's not alone in all this though he wasnt the only one who had a say in recruitment, speaking of which when is Pascoe back to deal with the mess?

He left us in a bigger mess than Potter and Taylor who both had no salary cap. This idiot had a blank canvas and still left us with a squad that is at least half dead wood.

@gallagher if Pascoe is a dud then what does that make the people before him? The administration and marketing of the club has improved dramatically since he took over. Can you not see that? Unless you want to solely credit Marina Go with that?

There's no doubt Cleary burnt him and in general he's given Taylor and Cleary too much leeway.

@GNR4LIFE He took some considerable risks buying the guys he did. I don't really remember too many doubting the buys when he made them though. Most seemed happy that players like that were even considering playing for us.

Hindsight is 20/20.

That’s because everybody thought he walked on water. Never seen the devotion to a coach that most of the forum had towards Cleary. Worked out well.

Salary Cap is interesting we have been blaming Sheens since he departed, forgiving Potter, Taylor and now blaming Ivan again.

The real question needs to be answered,
Why do the Tigers have to pay overs to attract talent? Why is our retention and recruitment so poor. Madge deserves support cleaning this up.

He knew what he was in for as he turned down the Eagles and had options. He has a plan which makes sense the players names are nowhere near good enough for the contracts they signed.

I had no real issue with the players Ivan signed but it’s mind boggling we have spent that much. Very poor form and explains why he bolted for Penrith he knew we had no chance for years with this roster. It’s bad for the fans Cleary has done a job in the cap and ran.

Not sure about the admin, how does a fan measure that? We're told we have more members and more sponsors but the stands and the corporate section were pretty bare last night.

And are we close to making a profit through more money coming in or are we just spending less? Those figures are never shared.

Above all else any CEO's job is to improve all aspects of the organisation. In a football club winning would surely be on to off that list. Are we any closer to that goal since he arrived?

Benji Quentin Marshall wants another season at the WT's

God no. He still has some good moments but was way off the pace last night, as was Farah.

No way Benji. You are getting far too greedy. Give the youngsters a chance instead to show what they are capable of. You owe it to the club which catered to your every need.
