If Turuva struggles in the centres which the likelihood is high IMO we already have too many wingers: Staines, Skelton, Laulilli, Turuva.

Centre is a bigger problem. We're relying on Turuva making it as a centre and Olam getting through a full season. If Faatape gets a run we're in deep trouble.

I really wish naden could work out, he has enough pace, has a bit of ball skill playing halves...it's a pity he has 2 bonehead games in him each season. Loved that intercept and Galvin try he started last season. He collected a knee in the head and still played the ball quick to get the next phase on.

And there is Toa in the centres as well.

Toa - inconsistent
Naden - bonehead
Turuva - who knows?

There is some depth there. Would be great to secure some real talent in the position but I imagine its being kept warm for Makasini 2026.

Yeah tricky one but at this stage I’d be leaning towards To’a partnering Olam in the centres with Turuva and Skelton on the wings…

he's past it in terms of playing centre week to week in first grade imo. I think a bench utility role is where he's best suited.

Doueihi's the guy we need to lift.

Even though i don't rate Bird highly these days i would be very suprised if he dosen't get more than a few games in the centres next year

Looks like he'll still be here. He has as much talent as any of our outside backs, but just continues to make bonehead decisions. I still can't get over that elbow to the head in his last game.

Maybe in a contract year in his last chance he'll control himself but I have doubts.

Maybe the club is waiting for the Taylan May stuff to get finalised if in fact he's found not guilty, hence the desperation to clear spots.

Turuva said in an interview that he wants to play centre but will play where Benji needs him so could be on the wing.

I think he’ll shift between both positions. Wing looks to be his most natural position imo. Good finisher.

Doueihi’s defence is staggeringly bad at centre. I would avoid him at all costs.

agreed. centre is a massive worry and there is next to nothing on the market. Makasini isn't far away obviously but if Olam picks up an injury and Turuva fails (fairly likely) we're in a lot of strife.

Makasini will play wing for the next few years at least.

Like Cobbo, starting out wide is easiest and maybe in time as defence is proven they can move inside.
