Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

They’d be fools to do that.
The mob on here are relentlessly incorrect at this time of the year….if the prevailing consensus is that we will do well, I’d be nervous…😎.
That said, we have built and nurtured a squad that will be competitive with the top 10 or so for a place in the finals. There’s a good mix of experience, success, exuberance with a splash of youthful X factor. People have identified this and are watching closely.
Be happy if they get off the bottom T challenge for top 8 rapped.

Yeah it's not a bad team at all. Coaching staff still has me worried.

If you had Bennett or Bellamy they would take this team to the top 8 so see what happens.
Coaching not completely useless Sean Hodgo some exp, Morris Cronulla 1st grade surely there is some useful input to help Benji plus he has had communication with Bennett and Bellamy if it doesn't improve this season then there will be a huge mob jeering around the guillotine.

Bennett and Bellamy can give Benji tips. Doesn't mean anything unless its woven in the fabric of the upper echolen - In saying that - i concur with you RHS. Bennett and Bellamy were students at some point in time - they too learnt from the masters before them.

Again. With the consumer price index fluctuating ( as the world changes) - to benefit the betting agencies - not you - it could be more than $350. Hope you win. Use the force.

IP and Api weren't signed until Sheens was back involved at the club though too don't forget. Madge did not get any decent signings prior in 4 years

Yeah you’re just downright lying now. You think Sheen, who hadn’t been part of the NRL in nearly a decade, played a bigger role in recruiting:
- Api, who won a premiership and was given his debut under Madge
- IP, who tried to backflip on his contract after Madge was sacked and was coached by Madge on the NZ team.

Was Stef a bad signing? Or are you going to try and give Pascoe and Lee credit for that one?

Just give it up, you clearly don’t know your arse from your elbow on this topic.

Would say the glimpses we saw in the 2nd half of the manly game should be enough to show that his ability is not an mirage. He's also played hooker for Tonga, and physically stood up. He's not a great white hope.
That's not to say that I think we can't keep both him and Galvin, and all the wrist sliting over Galvin leaving is very premature.
I think Latu can play 13 long term and Galvin can keep the 6.
I’m not saying he might not be talented … but a little bit of spark in one half of football isn’t consistency in first grade.
I’m looking forward to him showing us what he has got though.

Why would I avoid it. Truth is Madges results got worse every year, despite getting rid of that dead wood post 2020. If it was the cap hamstringing him then he should have still shown squad improvement once Grub and Matalino were gone after 2020 when he started to get some funds available. Truth is his team got worse, and a fair few individuals went backwards under him, Brooks especially

You appear to have a very contentious relationship with the truth as you never miss an opportunity to take a shot at Madge about the results but ignore the circumstances (probably deliberately).

Half of the deadwood were still at the club post 2020 along with the 1.2-1.3 million they took up combined (Mbye and Packer).

I could also get into the signings that fell through after Lee and Pascoes blunders (TPJ and JAC). I could also talk about how Madge had to go through a committee of clowns to recruit players because Pascoe had PTSD from the Cleary signings. But you’ll conveniently ignore that as well which is the story of what appears to be your very personal vendetta against Madge.

Got any other fake rumours you want to spread like a gossiping housewife?

That is not a true fact: A thing that is known and proven to be true.
Are you Donald Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon?
You cannot prove that in a lab or look it up in a historical journal. It did not happen and cannot be proven as a fact.
I get we love The Benj (no one more than me), but seriously if you don’t think that a couple of the, (arguably), the best modern day coaches wouldn’t have achieved a different result then you are kidding yourself. Sure with the same roster they may not have won the 2024 GF but to say it is “fact” that the same result would have happened is just ridiculous and totally illogical to me.

Still luv ya Benj
Benji said himself that he could have done things better in hindsight.
He was on a leaning curve and IMO it's going upwards.
Sheens directing him and influencing his judgement put him in Nomans Land.
Sheens has gone and Benji doing it the way he sees it now without looking over his shoulder for approval.
Between Benji and Richo they have a path/direction to aim at and achieve.
It has started with the harder training and better players. These new players relegate the players that were picked for the run on side 2024 are now KOE reserve graders_________or lift their game!

I think tempered expectations should be the way people go into this season .
Most times when a team breaks out , it usually happens after the year that everyone thinks it will .
So signs of life in 2025, and shoot up the ladder in 2026 is what I’m expecting . 7-10th would be a good season , 11-14 would be realistic , any thing above 7th a dream . Anything below 14th , looking for a new coach . In fact the debate will happen regardless if he misses the finals .

If we finish below forum expectations, I hope Benji doesn't read the comments it will be enough to turn his hair white or worse go bald.

Sheens was on deck as Head of Football when those two were signed. That's a fact.

You knob jockeys still talking about Sheena and bla bla bla
“Oh Sheena signed this guy, Cleary signed this guy” stfu get over it you blow asses it’s 2025
I agree. Sick of folks changing history and claiming Madge was a good coach for us. Benji needs to show improvement this year with the new squad no doubt. But since Benji and Richo have come on board we've been able to move on unwanted players and bring in some top players. Something that was impossible under the Lee, Pascoe and Madge diabolical regime
